8 3/8 27-2 Ser. 1869xx

Hello friends, I picked up this 27-2 this past weekend at a local GS this past weekend and would like a little help on it. It seems dated 1974 by serial number but it has some info scribe on the frame handle butt and I am not sure what it is or who the name is inscribe and why. It looks to be over factory frame markings. Here are the numbers and name. the ser. no is N1869XX. Thanks for any help you can give me on my search.

Could it have been manufactured in 74 and shipped in 79 ?

It appears as though the revolver was personally marked by D Glen. in 1979. The 27-2 was most likely shipped in the second half of 1974 and D. Glen is probably a second owner. Owners sometimes put their social security number on the grip frame along with their name.
