Curious what SD ammo people are using in their 908 and how accurate it shoots?

For whatever reason, I've found that the 147-gr standard pressure loads shoot to the sights in my smaller 3rd Gens (CS9, 3914, your 908, etc.). I use Golden Sabers currently, but I'm not too fussy about the type typically. I pretty much use 115s in everything else I own.

I've found with my 3913TSW and 3953TSW, 115gr shoots significantly low. 124gr is pretty accurate, and 147gr is spot on.
My theory is that back in the late 80s and early 90s when these guns were being developed the standard LE load was 147gr, so the guns were developed around it.
I would recommend testing all three loadings and seeing which one works best for you.

115gr GDHP.. better velocity to expand.
Accuracy such as shooting low for SD is insignificant IMO.. at 20 to 30 or maybe 40 feet I doubt anyone will have the time to take pin point aim.
If you have that much time and calm, I'd think dropping the hammer might not be the right choice.

mine has been 100% and accurate with both Speer Gold Dot standard velocity 124gr and Speer Lawman in the same weight and recipe'...good luck with your choice.

I prefer to train with ammunition that hits where I aim it. If there is ever a need to shoot in self defense, I don't want the ammunition going willy nilly, here and there.
The purpose of practice it to become proficient as possible, knowing that stress will have some impact on accuracy.

My 3914 had the wrong front sight and shot way low, even with 158 gr Fiocchi FMJ intended for suppressors. Installing the correct height, it now shoots 147's to POA, but lighter weights are still a bit low. I am not a fan of the "cover the target" sight picture and prefer a mild 6 o'clock hold.

Nothing worse than willy nilly..
One time I shot my dog. He was sitting behind me and all I was doing was trying out a new bullet weight.
I prefer to shoot Federal HST out of shorter barrels (124+P & 147+P), but any of their offerings in 9mm would be a good choice for the 908. I also like Speer Gold Dot 124g +P. These are also easier loads to find in LEO 50-round boxes on the net.
The Lucky Gunner link URIT provided earlier is a fantastic resource for bullet performance out of compact guns, and was a real eye-opener for some rounds. I was especially surprised at how many of the 147g loads did not perform well out of a 3.5" barrel.

I'm more concerned about my shot grouping than hitting the bullseye. A two-inch grouping with one or two fliers after 25 rounds makes for me happy.

Mine, in my hands, empties mags of Winchester 147JHPs into one hole when at about 30' when do my job.
That pistol always makes me look better than I am.
