I've read that the PC945 has an extended lock time which results in a perceived reduction in recoil. I've also read that PC pistols in general have extended lock times compared to standard production guns. Can any forum members comment on those statements?
Thanks for your response.

PC 945 delayed unlocking

S&W TSW series pistol promotional material did note delayed unlocking for improved accuracy, so PC pistols may also have this feature.

Lock time to me has always meant the time between trigger or sear release and firing pin strike on the primer. Delayed unlocking in autoloaders has been touted as an accuracy feature.

A heavier than "normal" recoil spring will increase barrel lock up time. Thats probably what they do.

BTW I always considered lock time to be the time between trigger pull and when the primer is struck by firing pin too. Usually you want to reduce this and is often done with titanium firing pins and very light hammers.

I did use the wrong terminology. I was referring to the time the barrel and slide remain locked. I read about the 945 in an article in the May/June 1999 American Handgunner. I can't remember where I read about the PC pistols in general and was curious whether anyone had any knowledge of them.
