A customer walks in on an armed robbery in Philly...

A customer walked into a carry-out restaurant in Philly last night, right into an armed robbery in-progress. The robber pointed his gun at the customer and demanded his cell phone. The customer drew his weapon, fired a single shot, and took out the robber.

"The incident remains under investigation and police are reviewing surveillance video.

The customer remained at the scene and was cooperating with authorities. He is not expected to face criminal charges."

"The customer who was also a victim because he had the gun pointed at him remained on scene, did cooperate with police," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. said, according to KYW-TV. "We do have his weapon we know that just one shot was fired from that customer."

According to article, the one shot fired struck the robber in the neck.

"And that's what it's all about!" PA is a "shall issue" and state pre-emption state. I like the videos where a thug tried told hold up a telephone store and.....
 
Don't know the whole story, but if a gun was being pointed at me, I'd have to think mighty long and hard about whether it would be wise to try to draw and shoot. Glad it worked out for the customer. Maybe the dirtbag got distracted and there was a window of opportunity.....

Maybe he thought the guys next move would be to pull the trigger and he had nothing to lose and everything to gain. And he gained it all. Larry
 
Sounds like a good shoot, so why did the police leave him defenseless after the shooting? The bad guy could have friends lurking just around the corner, knowing the fella that just took out their friend, no longer has a weapon. I know the answer, just bringing to light a dangerous situation that may someday arise.
