A guy walks into a gun store ..

I was a Machinist's Mate on SSN 686 in the early 70's. Own one today.

If your current inventory is any testimonial to your ability to acquire your gun of choice I'm overly confident that the 629 will find it's way in!;)

Post a pic when the deal is done...:)

Come on Allen !

Your middle name is " Macgyver"!

You could make a Mod 629 outta' a Mod 34, a Popsicle stick and a piece of drain pipe.

Ordered a 3 inch model 60 six years ago, when it arrived I was shocked that the serial number was my birthday. Good luck, it WILL happen.

i was looking for a 45colt mt gun for awhile when i finaly found one i checked condition and took it home. after the first range trip i was cleaning it and noticed it had jj in the serial a nickname most people still know me by. i thought it was pretty cool. good luck man

Well I 've seen photos of your vast S&W collection (especially the Colt 45) so I think you probably ran out of models of S&W revolvers to collect. So yea, I can see your collecting going in this direction. LOL. Seriously though, best of luck Allen.

"Holy cats. AVP serial prefix. I have been looking for one for years."

It probably would have been easier to just change your name.

I'm sure Alan will post pics. getting a revolver with your initials in the serial number is like haveing a suprise birthday party. I once saw a hungarian 98/40 in 8mm mauser serial number of just three numbers 666.
Wonder if it ever sold. Frank

If you change your middle name to Hugo or Haliburton I have your monogram on a Model 66-2...

Started thinking while I dont have my own monogram yet (BAW)
I do have a 19-2 that shipped within a few days of when I was born
that was my 48th BD present to myself....ha ha.

Well? Well?

Like Charlie on the Boston subway, "Did he Ever Return!!??"

And his fate is still unlearned!! :(

OH, well, on another note, my "go to" rifle is my

Remington 243

I bought a refurbished Glock 17, the serial number is

xx-243

I guess the Glock ain't going nowhere, especially since it is a "lights out" shooter!!

Good luck in trading him out of that gun.

Along similar lines, I was one of the instigators on the Dan Wesson 10mm Razorback years ago.
As a result the gun I got has my old badge number as the serial number,,and a subsequent custom order for a CCO with the same features is my badge number -1

DD-780

I was the Rangemaster at my job and when we got some new sidearms in I went thru the serial numbers to see if anything caught my eye. And I found one that had an old ships hull number as the serial number, xxx0781. We got new 681's and I carried that for 4 years and bought it when we went to the 686..a piece of history to me for sure..and a great piece to boot!
I saw you served on 781.
I was on USS Stormes DD-780 . I`d like to find something with that number.

Okay, this post is back to the top!!

However, I don't see the outcome of the subject handgun.

Suspense.............did Allen-frame get the gun??????????
