So I've decided I'd like a light on one of my shield pluses. I have a bad habit of breaking everything I own (I work on a construction site) so the smaller footprint of the plus bangs into things a lot less but a light would be a welcome addition.

that and an aiwb holster what's durable? I currently use Tenicor which has no light option.

I like Streamlight weapon lights for durability and switch location. I did pick up a couple SIG weapon lights that are smaller in size, and seem well made for the cost - I think $45 each on sale at PSA.

Cant help much on holsters, as I do not usually carry a handgun with a light mounted.

I am obligated to remind all that a light on a defensive handgun works to illuminate a target while identifying the shooter's precise position.

I'm not getting one that automatically goes on leaving the holster. But if unsure what's in someone's hands to the point I won't shoot solving that question fast could save my life. Or theirs if they aren't attacking but instead are injured/downs or similar

You can do the same with a quality small flashlight held at any arm's length from your body while not disclosing your torso. If you cannot fire your defensive handgun well with one hand, practice until you can.

Light sources attract the wrong stuff. You don't want the wrong stuff to end up in your center mass.

I just got this Streamlight recently. I really like it...

As for holsters - IWB seems to be easy to find. I did some googling yesterday for holsters that fit this light and the Shield Plus. Except, I want OWB.... There are not many choices. IWB - easy to find via Google.

Have you looked at Crossbreed?

Check DeSantis Mini Scabbard OWB (my Plus with TLR6 combo laser/light fits great - it has retention adjutment) or DeSantis Speed Scabbard OWB. DeSantis had a discount % - I paid about $50. DeSantis makes top quality holsters.

I just looked that up. That looks cool.

But the mounting points are so close together. In the past, when I tried holsters that were designed like that, the holster moved too much. That's why I always look for holsters with mounting parts further away.

How does it carry?

My normal PC Shield Plus without a light, I usually use this:

Have not experienced problem with holster movement. Actually like the ability to slightly adjust holster when transitioning from standing/seating/driving. Kind of individual thing.

I was reading the 2 star reciews for this holster for a Glock and a light... Here: [ame]https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B01ETWPQRG/ref=acr_dp_hist_2?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=two_star&reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar[/ame]

The comments kind of confirm my worry about this shape of holster...

Quotes:

This holster fits my Glock 43 with a TLR6 very well. My only gripe is that it is very loose on the belt, making it feel insecure.

I added a couple of copper rivets and the holster fits nicely on my belt. Very snug and secure. It also rides about 1/2 inch higher.

So I have now had this holster for a year now, the leather is not as thick as their older holsters, the loops are not up tight against the belt so it tends to hang kinda of sloppy with the gun. I just ordered a kydex. I would not buy again. I am really disappointed.

Not the Quality I am used to with desantis holsters. Very loose fitting Great design be able to accommodate the stream light But I’m not going to carry with a holster that I’m worried about the tool falling out of

I have owned several DeSantis holsters in the past and was always satisfied with their product but that was then. This holster is very poorly made. I should have listened to the other negative reviews. I sent it back to Amazon for a full refund. Do yourself a favor and pass this one by.

Just received mine yesterday. I have a desantis mini for a glock 43 without the tlr6 and it is awesome. Sturdy well made. This holster is definitely not the same quality of leather and is a flimsy piece of junk. Not what I expected from Desantis. I'll have my son make me one from kydex or a friend who does leather work. I have better China made holsters.

That's too bad, because I was about to take a chance...

Hard to argue with these comments, but I'm not one who carries a high percentage of time ... I'm retired homebody. I'm okay with my holster and understand others have different opinions. Yes, hard to find light friendly rigs. Thanks for your comments.

IF I get a holster,, I think the Vedder is the way to go (I posted the link above)
