Years ago...mid-to-late '70s...I had the most beautiful Model 19 with the greatest grips. It was a wonderful item and I wish I'd never parted with it, but, things being things, you do what you've got to do at the time. Anyway, the grips on this revolver were of a synthetic material that I remember had to be pressed into place to take on the *exact* final contours of the frame. The design was of the combat style. I now have a couple of Model 60's that I'd like to fit with the same grips (obviously a different frame) but I can't find these grips referenced anywhere. I may have to resort to one of the current crops of grips but I'd like to have exhausted every option before I go in that direction. Any help you folks might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated, and Thanks in advance. Ed

I vaguely remember a set of grips that you squeezed to conform to your hand. I guess they would conform to the frame as well. But, I don't think they ever caught on and are long gone. I don't remember the name either.

Welcome to the Forum! Well, I think you've stumped the panel with your press-on grips question...and that's not easy to do. I cannot be of any help because I've never heard of that particular style of grips either. Perhaps we still have some Forum gurus that will chime in and help with your question. Otherwise, as you know, there are plenty of aftermarket grip manufacturers that make some excellent products. Good luck!

I have been around a bunch of cops on the job in the 70’s and 80’s and they would buy just about anything gun related. But - I have no recall of anyone ever having or showing off a set of grips that were pressed frame form fitting.
