Of today's gun show haul from New Braunfels...The postwar Terrier is in .38 S&W, and has its original numbered Magnas...The prewar Regulation Police is also in .38 S&W and wears its original numbered stocks...The two M&P's are also prewar and the round butt version has its original numbered hard rubber grips...The square butt M&P has mismatched walnut service grips, but did come with a genuine S&W embossed grip adapter...

The pearlies were bought yesterday from a very small show in Waco...I bought them just to say I didn't completely waste all that diesel going to Waco...They had the wrong screw, but I had the correct one at home...On a whim I tried the fit on the SB M&P when I got home today...They are a very good fit, and together with the grip adapter they have found a new home replacing the mismatched walnuts...

All four are in good condition mechanically, and have the average expected bluing loss in spots...It was a pretty good weekend after all......Ben

Whata haul Ben. Guess I'm going to have to make the trip to New Brunfels.
No, no...Nothing to see there ever again...Venue closed...Vendors went home...Try someplace else......Ben

Added in edit: Seguin was a waste of time 12 miles away...

Edit again: Waco was nice for sightseeing, and I bought a pair of pearlies and four presentation cases...

Looks like you did very well indeed. I’ve never figured out why I like I frames in 38 S&W so much, except they are the smallest 38 revolvers that Smith ever built! Finding good pre War RB and SB M&Ps at the same show is a treat, and the S&W marked grip adaptor is the cherry on top of the whole deal. I can’t tell from the shine… is there a medallion on the pearls or are they aftermarket? Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing them installed along with the GA. They should be great looking regardless of what Gen Patton said!
Congratulations,
Froggie

The MOP's are aftermarket, and very thin which explains why someone cut the shims from galvanized steel and added them...No medallions, but they are dished in that area...

And in regards to the General and his sentiments, I've been working on a tribute gun to him for some time...I started with a .38 RP which was in poor condition...I had the barrel cut to 2 1/4" with no front sight so it would be strictly a pocket/belly gun...I had it nickel plated just as any self-respecting Nawlins pimp would have done, and I have been diligently searching for genuine MOP's in vain...I had a good chance yesterday when I had the opportunity to go through a whole pile of MOP's (all marked $150) with nothing found that would work on a rebated frame...The search goes on...:)...Ben

Mr. Ben,
I just absolutely love your appetite for acquiring Smith and Wesson revolvers. You are an inspiration to me — and others, and as far as I can tell, you are a credit to the human race !! Keep up the good work.

What kind of Presentation Cases did you get?
