At our recent IDPA Club Championship Match we had 103 shooters. Only three chose to run this match with a revolver.
Two of us with SSR (Speedloaders) and one ESR (.45 Moon Clips).
Overall I finished 51 out of 103, which is not to bad for a middle 60's old man with glasses running against all the Glocks and 1911's.
I was shooting a Competition modified 66 and it did very well as usual. I still have problems with rounds during a reload not dropping all the way in and I have to nudge them down to close the cylinder.
I know brushing chambers between stages would help but when you are shooting and working as an SO at the same time, it is near impossible to stop and go to a "Designated Safe Area" to do this operation, and keep the squad moving.
