Hi –

I recently got an old M&P .38, and took it to the range today. It appears to be shooting slightly to the right. Is there a way to adjust (bend) the front sight just a bit?

The guy next to me had just gotten a used Uberti, and his was off like 7" at 25 yards. Mine was minor compared to that, but...it would be nice if I could move it a bit.

Yes, but... I had one that was bugging me just enough to be irritating, i got a small blind-edge file and widened the rear notch just a bit in the correct direction. Gave me a site picture I liked better and did the job just fine without having the front site look funky.

AT least half of the time, this is caused by the shooter -- either the grip or finger position on the trigger (which can cause the gun to be pushed or pulled left or right). Before you do anything, benchrest the gun and be sure that it does, indeed, shoot left. If it does, there are many things that might fix it, from changing loads (it's not just elevation that can vary load-to-load), to bending the sight, to turning the barrel slightly in the proper direction.
