What is a fair price for a 27-2 factory nickel 5" barrel revolver? Very nice condition, great bore. Very clean, no box. The forward side plate screw head has slight damage. I didn't do it. Clean under grips with "N" stamp. Thanks for any help.

Go over it very carefully. People that collect
Nickel guns are very picky. The screw can be
Replaced if this is only blemish I would
Expect it to bring $1200-$1600 with no
Box papers or tools.
This in my area may be more or less some
Where else.

I just recently sold a 5 inch in excellent condition for $1500. That was box, tool, paperwork. Could have gotten more but sold it to the guy I bought it from.

The buggered screw is the yoke retention screw, a new one might fit perfectly, then again, might need some adjustments. In its current condition, I'd say $1200 to $1500 in today's market.

That's a very nice 27-2! Are you buying or selling? You can probably clean up that buggered screw a little bit with some TLC, or replace it. 5" nickel Model 27s are always desirable, and bring a premium (the 5" bbl. was discontinued in 1979). I think $1500 is about right in today's market for a -2, and add $150 for box and goodies. If it was one of FHP's marked revolvers, it would be worth even more.
