AFTER 4 YEARS TOTIN' IT - I THINK I'VE FOUND EDC PERFECTION

For 40+ years I carried a M36, M60 and M60-7 for EDC. They were reliable, well made and small enough that I always had it with me. With Buffalo Bore 158 grain "Heavy" LSWCHP-GC ammo I felt like I had a great combo of concealment, size, weight, and knock-down power - but was not happy about the 5 round capacity!

Along came the Sig P365 and at that point I had no plastic guns. I had heard about the P365's issues when first released however the Company wisely and rapidly jumped on that and the issues went away. That's when I bought one.

I have never looked back!! At 17.8 ounces empty, 23.5 ounces with 11 rounds, the pistol is thin, flat, small, very reliable, low recoiling, has incredible night sights, has a terrifically smooth and short trigger pull (for a striker fired gun and much better than Glock) and is accurate beyond any reasonable needs for self defense. At 50 feet I can easily keep the 11 round group in a 2"- 2.5" circle in the bullseye - not vey difficult to do with that pistol.

I like the ergonomics, I like the quality of the build, I like pretty much every aspect of this Micro 9 and along with the Federal HST 124 grain 9mm ammo, I feel I've never had a better carry piece!

This is the very first and only "plastic framed pistol" I have ever owned and just can't say enough about it. There are many other great and similar pistols in the Micro Pistol arena now out there. You have the S&W, Ruger, Springfield, etc. etc. and I have looked at them in shops and at the Range, but the Sig still remains "numero uno" to me. As the expression goes...... "it's everything you want with nothing you don't. I am actually at somewhat of a loss as I can't even thing of anything that they might consider improving! For me, that's rare!!

This pistol accompanies me daily either in my Kramer Horsehide OWB leather rig or in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. What a package!!! I only pray I never need to use it!

No matter how good automatics become I'll always drive a manual transmission. Same with my handguns. Self loaders are amazing..but a revolver is my carry gun. Keep it simple as possible has always worked for me.

Still got cha mule in the barn for backup?

I think I read somewhere that the P365 is the best selling handgun in the US.

There’s good reason for that.

You can't beat a 365. I started carrying one also, about 3 years ago. I'm 60 and it's the nicest carry gun I've had. It works. It's light. It holds ten rounds. It's perfect for me.

I did that. Then I handed it back to him to put back in the case, and bought the 365.

I carried a Shield as my BUG at work until I shot a 365. Bought a 365 and sold the Shield immediately.

I still think of myself as a "revolver guy" but damned if that Sig P365 isn't near perfect. I often carry it in a Watchdog Tactical appendix holster. It disappears, even with the 12 round magazine. Hard to argue with 12+1 rouds of 9mm in a super concealable and reliable package.

Same here, got my first revolver in ‘68 and issued revolvers saved my bacon more than once on the street. In retirement it’s a 340PD or 442 Pro Series for EDC.

What a person carries is a personal choice for sure. I made my choice almost two years ago.
I used to carry my M649, now I carry my P365XL. It is what everyone says it is. Very accurate, 12+1 rounds, great trigger, and so far very reliable.
It also weighs less than my 649 and a reload.
I am very fond of it and trust it with my life. If you get a chance to try one you might be pleasantly surprised.
And to add the Sig has very good night sights.

I have posted this comparison before. The 365XL has 12 in the magazine and one in the chamber. M649 is loaded and 5 in a speed strip.

The weight comparison is interesting. For me, it comes down to the shooting, and I shoot the 365 a LOT better. I outshoot my G17 with it. Pound for pound, smaller groups give the nod to the Sig.

In the 9mm I prefer the Glock G26 in the last 30 years. I am not a fan of Sigs even tried the Sig 239 back in the 90's which was a darn good pistol, but not as good as the G19 with 15 shots for the same size. I trust the G26 over the cheaply made 365 and shoot the G26 better.

It ain’t large enough that even eight taped taped together are as large as a size 5 ladies shoe box. I’m thinking the shoe box would fit ten, maybe twelve in a normal size box.

Glock itself made the Model 26 obsolete with the 43x and 48. And even the 43.
