My brother who works at the biggest gun shop in New Mexico says they were cleaned out of AK and AR-style rifles in two days. Ammo also going fast. Wall-to-wall in customers.
My LGS here in northern WI also has had a run on AR's and had only two left when I visited today. Bought a brick of .22 LR, which used to be in abundance, starting to deplete.
So what's the situation in your neck of the woods?

Bout the same. Walked into one semi local GS and it was very specific. NO ARs but about 10 AKs and 4-5 VZ58s. A few cases of ammo were still available 9, 40, 45. Almost no 5.56 ammo, i bought 5 boxes and i think another 10 were all that was left. Still had half a shelf of 8mm Mauser and 5.45, at normal prices. Magpul mags were getting low but AK surplus mags were still relatively available, again at normal current (pre shooting) prices.

I bought 5 boxes of 5.56 and 2 Magpul mags.

So just now i came back from a LGS down the street from me. It was slim picking. NO 5.56/223 & their mags, 45acp, ARs or AKs. Not much in the way of used semi autos. Used revolver case full but mostly S&W 44 magnums of different styles.

Salesman said their record sales day before all this was 98 firearms. Monday they sold 115 firearms, Tuesday 116 and they didnt have complete figures for today but it was way north of Tuesday sales

My son is the gun dept. manager at a large sporting goods store. He called me yesterday at 7:00 pm and said they sold out of AR's and 5.56 ammo.

In addition to all things AR being gone, the local Sportsmans Warhouse has had a run on .22 LR. It actually started a couple weeks ago, before he school shooting.

I'm just wondering how many people are going to cry foul when they have to turn in these new purchases? I would not be hedging my money against Obama not taking them away.

And why wouldn't they ? Illegal, unconstitutional seizure of legally purchased private property should cause even a 'genius' from the ACLU to get upset.

I don't put it past them to float the idea, and no doubt they'd love to do it. But I have a little more faith in the foundations on which the country was founded, the wisdom of the founders, and the backbone of the silent majority. Regardless of how many quislings ascend to power and try to impose their will over what's legal and right.

local sportsmans warehouse had 5 ars left yesterday,1 ruger mini 14 and one m1a,still had a fair amount of ammo for all,but the reloading shelves are gittin kinda bare

Remember who we are dealing with: A Radical Idealogue unlike any other US President. Hence we are in uncharted territory.

Anything is possible on the second amendment attack. And this could eventually lead to confiscation down the road with federal registration as a precursor. Look at history, look at Nazi Germany.

Obama has been waiting patiently by the sidelines to attack the second amendment. Again, we are dealing with man who is steeped in radicalism by mentors that ranged from Saul Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals, and Frank Marshal Davis, a member of the Communist Party of the United States. There is no doubt that Obama and his advisors strategized that they should wait for a major tragedy to take place that will gain national attention. A tragedy that would win the hearts and soul of the American people. The Newton shooting was their moment to go after law abiding citizens right to bear arms. Notice the ferocity with which they attacked the second amendment. To quote former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuele, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

I am due for a significant raise by end of January. As a result of these events there are many things I can do to promote and preserve the cause of Libert. One is to become a Life Member of the NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation. I will also donate funds to Landmark Legal Foundation chaired by Mark Levin, a Constitutional Attorney and syndicated talk show host.

I dont think its gonna happen because its impossible to enforce. How can they know who has what. There are sales records of course but how many riflesare and guns have been sold face to face. How many were "stolen" and the owner was afraid to report it.
It will create a huge black market and make criminals out of ordinary citizens. It aint happening!

Stopped by the LGS last night. No semi-auto .223/5.56 rifles in stock, no 5.56 ammo in stock, although they did have a few boxes of premium .223 Remington in stock. They were told by their distributor not to expect any new guns before April.
