What do you think do they exist or don't they?

If my understanding is correct that the universe is truley infinite then I believe it would be foolish to think there are not any other life forms in the universe. With that said, I'm not totally sold on the idea that these "other life forms" are flying around our planet in ships and saucers and are crashing all over the desert.

What are you thoughts?

Illegal aliens? Sure they exist. Why would God put all the planets out there if they were of no use? Is it just a accident that of all the uncountable known planets we are the only one posistioned with just right distance from the sun to support life? I once saw a ufo myself that is impossible to explain. The bible even has a several referances to them. This will be a interesting thread.

The Vatican said they could exist. Something along the lines of saying they don't exist would be putting limitations on God's power.

My opinion: Life on other planets.. yes. Humanoid aliens who keep abducting humans over and over to satisfy their strange probing desires..

Oh, and don't ask me about area 51. That's classified. Also, don't ask about area 51 1/2... that's REALLY classified....

There's no factual evidence that aliens exist. You'd think after all this time someone somewhere would have something besides a grainy fuzzball picture to show for all these "sightings".

Nope. No proof. UFO's were a good cover for Stealth Bombers!

I think UFOs are just that, unidentified flying objects. Aliens, I don't think so. I think we are the absolute masters of the universe. Just my thoughts. Maybe God did put something else out there, but he put it so far away that we can't get to it, to screw it up. I think he put all that out there just so we can see how insignificant we really are.

Go to any construction sight, if you can find one in this economy.
Oh, wait- you meant......

I don't think we've been visited - yet. If, or when, it does happen, there will be no doubt whatsoever of the event. It just doesn't make sense to me that we could be alone.

Yes. See the Drake equation, though the numbers may need some adjustment depending on how you run it, there are a lot more planets than thought and good evidence that life is more widespread than thought. There's a reasonable chance that life on Mars - of a microscopic sort - has already been proven.

Sir, life on other planets seems entirely plausible to me. The universe is a big place.

That said, I'm not convinced that space aliens are coming here in flying saucers, abducting people, and crashing in New Mexico and such. Such stories strike me as being long on speculation (and sometimes wishful thinking) and short on actual evidence.

JMHO, FWIW.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Well, since the UN appointed a czar to be in charge meeting and greeting them, I ain'ta gonna sweat it.

We are well protected.

  1. Invariably, the only thing LESS plausible than any UFO report is the Air Force's "explanation" of it. The Air Force's "explanation" for Roswell implicitly relies upon time travel.
  2. The STUPIDEST reason given for why extraterrestrials haven't visited (or won't visit) the earth is, "Why would they come HERE?" I invariably reply, "Why would White men go to Guadalcanal?" Because it's on the way to some place more important.
The most strident examples of UFO "debunking" have the air of religious dogma rather than the scientific method.

Life in the Universe?

This planet is teeming with life and has been for a billion years or more and despite the catastrophic events of the past wiping out vast numbers of living things there is still life.
Would we recognize an alien form of life? Possibly, we could also overlook it, too. The environmental conditions an alien life form evolved into would be so different from the conditions here on Earth that we may not see it as a life form. Even given an identical environment the evolutionary path could be quite different.
I have to say that the Universe teems with life just as our little dust ball does.

If they meet any of our governMENTAL officials, especially the UN. They'll either quarentine us to prevent our stupidity from leaving Earth, or do something to us like the movie "Independence Day" to prevent it from spreading!

"Take me to your leaders...."
"No, I don't think that would be a good idea, Commander."

You should have watched Carl Sagan's series some 20 or 30 years ago. He broke it down to the number of possible earth like planets then took about 1 percent as a reasonable number to be inhabited and that number was something like 1 billion. If true I would have to say that the possibility of the existence of Aliens is probably true.
