So today I took delivery of my Christmas present to myself for having such a busy and hard year,

Now that it is fitted I cannot wait to get to the range on Saturday coming for some fun, fun, fun.

I think its fair to say I can now swap, change and play around with just about every aspect of this cracking little rifle to do just about whatever I feel like.

Close up, Long range, steel, tennis ball, deliberate groups or speed plink there seems to be no end to the fun to be had.

I can also now decide and swap out for noisy or not, shroud or cage.

I gotta say it IS such fun, all be it a money pit if you let it...(yes I did ) :D:D

but hey, if you cant spend it and enjoy it, what is the point????

Rob.....

Eotech is a EXPS 3-4

My logic ( if there is such a thing ) means I can move the Eo and Magnifier across other platforms as I get them.

That is of course, if I don't go mad again !!! :D

Rob :D looking good now, remember eyes open without the

magnifier ........have you kept the rear sight on?

keith

No I haven't had the rear sight on since I purchased the rifle. Took it off when I fitted the ACOG. The front will likely come off as well at some point.

I'm not likely to bother with back ups. If batt does die when I'm at the range, early day and cup of coffee. :-)

For what they cost I could have a good chuck towards my next rifle which is what I intend to start towards now.

Both eyes open should be ok as have been clay shooting for a few years now as well as seasonal pheasant partridge and duck shooting.

;-)

Mark.

A real thing of beauty you got there! I can only imagine your excitement. Never say never though, there is always going to be more to attach :) there is never an end, just time to stop and admire...I was pleased as punch with my new MTC Viper and hopefully can rescue my 15-22's performance in its first ever rapid fire comp, 3 rounds to go still in first place...even after fudging the last two rounds with my broken scope....I really hope my Smith & Wesson wins...it'll really silence the greys, naysayers and that pesky ruger 10-22 crowd.
Would love to see some target and action pics from your range trip on Saturday...
Well done Mark

I took off my backup sights long ago... just never used them.

Since you have every gadget know to man on that rifle, I have a hard time believing you don't have a grip or something with a compartment to hold spare batteries. Take your candy out & put some spares in there. :)

I leave mine on, but I don't use them...

EXCEPT when I am trying out a new red dot. It takes no range time whatsoever to sight in a new red dot. Just flip the sights up, and put the dot on the top of the front sight.

Now, it's not like that happens frequently, but....

Sayin hey from the West Coast

Nice pile o parts you have there Rob1. Shoot the heck out of it, lol

I surely intend to do just that. :D

Starting this Saturday once zeroed.

I'm guessing I should be able to average somewhere between 500 to a 1000 per session if I really try :-)

Long as my range officer doesn't get too upset. :D

You got a EOtech + magnifier for a 22lr? More power to you man!

got that set-up on one of my 15-22's also. Hated to just have it laying around. all my other 'real' AR's have high end scopes on them, so i had the EO all alone. great addition to the 15-22 and i can take it off whenever. shame they cost that much in the UK though!!!!! friggin ITAR!

I too have one 15-22 set up with an Eotech... the other uses an Aimpoint Pro. Both are great sights. Eotech has the best sight picture... Aimpoint has MUCH longer battery life & is tougher. IMO, the Eotech reticle with the 65 MOA ring with the 1MOA dot is the best out there. I just love it.

I also use the 3X flip to side magnifiers but only install them when needed, which is rarely. They add a lot of weight & bulk to the rifle. Another reason why I don't use backup sights, as the magnifier mount needs to be as far back as possible for me. Even when not using the magnifiers, I keep that rail space open for quick attachment.

I have an aim point too. I didn't mean as far as reliability goes or having one laying around. Also I didn't realize the OP was in the UK.

I guess I just see a 22lr as a glorified BB gun. But again, didn't know he was in the UK. Rim fire and center fire rifles probably have different laws there

I use my 15-22s same as my ARs. They all have the same triggers (CMC) plus have similar, if not identical, attachments. I use the 15-22 as an AR trainer & from what I read, that is not uncommon... even for police. I can shoot the 15-22 much cheaper than my 300 Blackout AR plus the 22 suppressed is ultra quiet which allows me to shoot on my home range. Waiting on my Saker to get out of jail before I can determine if I can shoot the big boy at home too.

Sig MCX w/ Romeo 4 red dot ...

I have a Sig MCX in 300 BLK that I mounted the Sig Romeo 4 absolute co-witness red dot. Like the Eotech it has the 65mm ring with red dot inside.

I have the Eotech mounted on my Windom Weaponry AR-15 and I especially like the 65mm ring. The Sig Romeo has the same setup and I can change weapons with the same sight picture.

I've kept the iron sights on the Sig MXC and they line up perfectly with the red dot (thus absolute co-witness). What I especially like about the Sig Romeo is that they have a motion sensor built in so picking up the rifle automatically activates the sight.
