Altamont revolver wood grips screw size

Anyone has the screw, caliper and thread gauge handy? Would like to know what the screw size is.

I thought it was the same as the grip screw on my Model 10, which I think is 5-44 (?). I have a pair of Altamonts for my 625-8 and the screw diameter appears to be the same (.118"-.119") but the pitch is different. Unfortunately I don't have a standard pitch gauge (just metric.) Perhaps 5-40?

Update: After taking a pic and doing a bit of squinting, I think I can safely say that the screw on my Altamonts are 40 TPI. Major diameter is ~.119, so definitely not #6

S&W 5-44 everything else 5-40 as far as any grip screws I have seen

Which Altamont grips do you need a screw for? The last three sets of Altamont grips I bought came with 3 different lengths of screws. What length do you need? I'll look and see if I have one the right length.
