Tried a hammer from a Model 649 in my Model 60. The j frame hammer is like a fish hook, this may be an option that is smoother and preserves the da/sa function.

Reminds me of those lovely pre-war humpback hammers.

Nice! Have the same issue that anything and everything gets tangled on that darned hammer spur. How much work was fitting it? I see Numrich has a Hammer Assembly, Used Factory Original (.240 Semi-Spurless, Stainless
Product #: 298460 in stock. Which one did you use?

Fitting the hammer was not a big chore. Some stoning on the lifter was all it took. Haven’t notice any snag issues. Still getting used to the new profile though. Got mine off eBay, but the Numrich part should be the same.

Looks weird, of course, but if it does what you want then it's a winner!
I really dislike bobbed hammers. Not sure why, aesthetics or something... maybe OCD? Probably why I think this looks weird, too. Anyway, vs. a standard hammer, does this shave off an appreciable amount? It looks somewhat shorter. Do you think you'll do any more contouring to make it 100% snag free? It's certainly an interesting little project at a fairly low cost.

I bobbed my 37. It carries great. I can still use single action but, never do.
