Am I crazy to sell off 27-2 and 29-2 for a Python?

I put a "like" on one of the above responses after the original poster posted. Read the rest.

I've got the 1976 Python with 3 SW 29s. The Python is beautiful. Just to hold it and look it over is a thrill. Shooting it is not as nice as an SW 27 or SW 28 for me. I do prefer the N frame in the .357. I do not like the L frame which came way after the K and N.

The N Frame SWs are accurate like hand rifles in .357, .41, and .44 Magnum in the barrel length you prefer Miculek prefers the 6.5 inch I think because I've seen video of him shooting the 29-10 (performance enhanced) DA at numerous targets in speed and he is absolutely amazing.

The Python is always a good spend if you get one you like. I waited from the 70s to today to get the one I would pay the most for and I am not unhappy. I have put more wear on it than the place it was in before me. It is a machine and it doesn't have to go out in the rough woods and mountains. Send the troops in N frame to deal with anything alive there from Alaska to Maine.

The Python is the revolver for me when it comes to the .38 Special Target Wadcutter from Win or Rem: 148 gr Target Wadcutters.

A lot of times I get carried away and think I could handle anything with the Python and wadcutters but then I regain my reality knowing the wadcutter .38 isn't going to stop a Kodiak like a .44 Magnum.

Only you can make the final decision, but if it were me, I would definitely hang onto those two very nice smith's if at all possible.
I let go of a very nice 28 and 29, and I have regretted it ever since.
I know Pythons are great guns also, I don't own one and probably never will, with the outrageous prices on them today.
But, I'm kind of like you, don't have the funds to just go out and by a Python, so I've decided to get over that want, and keep what I have and be content with it.
Good luck with your endeavor.

Have been a spectator when folks had to deal with Pythons that were out of time or with a sprung crane. Don't care about dealing with any Colt revolver. Got a bunch of Smith's and as happy as a clam.

I couldn't part with my 27-2 or either of my 29-2's.
Bud did about 19 years ago finally added the 6" nickeled Python.

I still have two pythons....these stay in the safe for now...have shot other with full 357 loads and have not shot them loose or out of time...no problems at all...they are fine revolvers. No,keep the smiths you have and save if you want a python
