I put a "like" on one of the above responses after the original poster posted. Read the rest.
I've got the 1976 Python with 3 SW 29s. The Python is beautiful. Just to hold it and look it over is a thrill. Shooting it is not as nice as an SW 27 or SW 28 for me. I do prefer the N frame in the .357. I do not like the L frame which came way after the K and N.
The N Frame SWs are accurate like hand rifles in .357, .41, and .44 Magnum in the barrel length you prefer Miculek prefers the 6.5 inch I think because I've seen video of him shooting the 29-10 (performance enhanced) DA at numerous targets in speed and he is absolutely amazing.
The Python is always a good spend if you get one you like. I waited from the 70s to today to get the one I would pay the most for and I am not unhappy. I have put more wear on it than the place it was in before me. It is a machine and it doesn't have to go out in the rough woods and mountains. Send the troops in N frame to deal with anything alive there from Alaska to Maine.
The Python is the revolver for me when it comes to the .38 Special Target Wadcutter from Win or Rem: 148 gr Target Wadcutters.
A lot of times I get carried away and think I could handle anything with the Python and wadcutters but then I regain my reality knowing the wadcutter .38 isn't going to stop a Kodiak like a .44 Magnum.
