Sir, That "little guy" is priceless to me. In regards to a bargain, I have to say the quality and condition of a S&W make it a bargain to me.
Guy at another table had a pristine Pre Model 15
Combat Masterpiece, but the box was not in as good of condition as preferable. He wanted $1295. The magnas were great. The gun was great.
To me, there are guns and then there are great guns. Great guns say a lot about their previous caretakers. That deserves respect in a sense. If the gun is not worth the asking price today, it may very well be worth more than the asking price next year.
If I had another I may have been more price conscious about this gun. I turn down 14s all the time because of 1% ......already have a better one. As another forum member and I shared in emails this week, they are all gifts and we are merely caretakers of these fine S&Ws but for a time. We enjoy them as we take care of them for whoever may take over after us.
