I always try to buy American when I can. I had myself convinced to buy a Holosun Red Dot as soon as the V2's became available. But recent events have brought me back to reality.

I assume the Trijicon RMR and the Leupold Deltapoint Pro are made here?? Are there others you guys are using?

I run an RMR on my 5" CORE.

I'm interested in seeing the other responses. Finding something that is 100% American made by an American company can be an effort.

For example, I looked at Burris. An American Company based in Colorado. Or are they? They are owned by Beretta (not an issue for me). Some products are made in the Philippines.

Even Vortex manufacturers off shore.

Many companies get their lens from other places as well.

Check out:

Marketplace Overview: Riflescopes >> OpticsThoughts I know it's a few years old and references scopes, not red dots but you'll get some clues.

The Vortex Venom is made in the Philippines, all their others are made in China. The Burris fastfire III is made in the Philippines.

Trijicon RMR and SRO, Leupold Delta Point Pro are the ones that I know for certain at US-made.

Browe is another that claims to be made here. I had never heard of them until today. I guess one of the guys from Trijicon started his own company in 2009. There is a story on TFB about it with a bunch of drama in the comments section about whether or not its really made here.

I find it unusual that their web site is not only selling their product, but they have the SHIELD listed there. It's not made by them, and it's made in England.

Hmm.. I read the TFB article and the comments.

My RMR has "Made in the USA" on the box.

(this box not mine but an example).

They certainly aren't clear about it. From their website:

The company designs, sources and manufactures its products in the U.S. with sales worldwide, including Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Canada.

I guess an argument could be made that their engineers are here, source their components from China, and assemble them here. If that is true; it would make me wonder if that isn't also true for companies like Trijicon and Leupold.

I don't expect every electrical component to be made here. But if they are claiming America Made; I expect the major components and boards to be Engineered, made, and assembled here; not sourced from Holosun.

Check Millett Tactical , they started out USA owned & operated ... but it seems nothing is made here anymore .
Millett - Home
I have two Millett SP-1 Red Dot sights mounted on handguns and another on a Ruger 10/22 rifle but the Weaver (made in USA) rings hide most of the sight ... I don't see any "made in" one is 15 years old . Millett makes good products .
If I could only find a box !
