ammo advice

new to the forum, im wondering what the best ammo to break in my new swve 40 would be? i read on another forum not to use jhp at first when its brand new... any truth to that any input helps

Shoot whatever you want through it, you're not going to hurt it. I'd break it in with whatever feeds reliably and is inexpensive.
 
I think the 40's come sighted for 180 loads, but I use 165 in mine and they shoot point of aim. But as mentioned just find some at a good price and go to it and see how your gun functions.
 
From what I understand it's all about shooting the pistol to break in in, not the bullet you shoot. I'm told the break in process is all about smoothing out the "rough spots" on all the moving parts. Most any ammo will do that. That's a good suggestion above to use what you can find that's cheap.

Of course you will have to shoot your carry ammo to be sure it reliably shoots and cycles the pistol before you commit to carrying that ammo, but that's another thing.
 
On a new autopitsol I make a point no running at least one box at the end of bullet weight and another at the low end just on general principles. The round was originally designed to use a hollowpoint bullet so the weapon should function properly with them.
