I live near a CheaperThanDirt store. I needed a few rounds so I stopped by and........ HOLY CRAPACCINO BATMAN!......their prices have doubled! I thought "Ok, they're talking gun legislation again, this was bound to happen." So later that day I happened to be in Walmart and their prices haven't risen at all. I'm disappointed with CTD. What kind of prices are you guys seeing out there?

There was a little 40, 357, and 380 at my Walmart. Some rifle caliber as well, but not much.

My walmart had only 4 boxes of Win. .40 at 25.00 a box.

No other handgun ammo.

LGS has alot of 180 gr. .40 no 9mm or anything else.

All .40 ammo was 14.99 box of 20.

Cheaper .40 like Speer Lawman ect....

As soon as my local WM gets ammo in, there are (donkey) holes up there scarfing it up. They have no respect for other shooters.

My LGS has 9mm TulAmmo for $21 a box of 50! They used to charge $10.95,then went to $17,and now $21!

And the evil black rifles (ARs and M4s) are now $400-$600 more then they were a couple of weeks ago. He had originally raised them $200-$400.

My local pawn shop is completely sold out of all firearms!

My LGS has some high dollar ammo jacked up in price ?? CCI Velocitor is $8.95 a box of 50rds. !000 rds of 45 acp 230 ball range ammo $600 and maybe 20 % of the guns they normally have and that being shotguns and revolvers. Looks like a waste land. Strange

I was at Gander Mountain in Terre Haute last Friday they had plenty of
.380 and 9mm in stock at usual prices and 250 packs for 99.95. They had plenty of 38 special an 45 auto. Completely out of .223/5.56 and 7.62 and 22lr .357 mag

Op you must have missed the thread about cheaper then dirt raising P mag prices. They went up to 100 then 50 and not sure where they went from there.

Yea cheaper then dirt has lost my business and sure plenty of others.

I will not buy from Cheaper than Dirt, and as far as ammo right now I can actually say I am pretty well provisioned since the only rifle I have is a .22 and I have lots of ammo for it, plenty for my 16 gauge which I have no trouble finding, and as far as .38 Special and .357 Magnum, I have a good couple thousand rounds on hand of handloaded rounds plus I have a great deal of lead still on hand to cast what I need later. For my muzzleloader I have over 100 Minie balls on hand, plus a mould to make more, several hundred musket caps and powder. I will get some more primers when I can and eventually I plan to get some .308 brass, dies and bullets for the Winchester Model 70 I am caretaking for (I have permission to use it when I want and was told I will most likely end up with it since the owner is in CA and doesn't shoot or hunt). I hope to start getting supplies for that soon and load for it when I physically can when I have recouped enough. Other than that the only rifle I even have on my agenda is a .357 lever or a .30-30 but if I end up with this Model 70 I may scrap that plan, if I end up someday being able to use it when my arm may let me its hard to say. It's a early Featherweight and the original owner added a receiver sight instead of a scope which were popular here in the thick brush. I doubt I would ever add a scope to the gun for up here.

Totally agree, cool description.

I was @ Gander Mountain today in Virginia, buying a used SW40VE by the way, and they had Blazer .40 S&W 165gr, 50 pk, for $22 and Winchester .40 S&W 180gr 50pk for $34. Plenty of each. I don't usually buy ammo but it's getting hard to find bullets in stock for reloading (this gun control debate is going to cost us a lot of money).

They get their stock in Thursday mornings (today) - they sold ALL of the .223, 5.56mm, and their AR 15s in the first 15 minutes of the store opening. She told me a line was outside and they RAN to the back of the store to grab the ammo.

Also, they are almost out of every handgun that holds more than 10 rounds. That's why I got this used SW40VE. just in case.......

Thanks S&W Forums for the $10 NRA discount. I've been wanting to join but kept putting it off. There's no better time to join than right now, and I did!!!!

I have some 9mm & 45ACP that I found on line due next week, so
I was trying to find some ammo for short term. I called Dick's Sporting
Goods & the guy was nice enough to tell me they had a truck coming
in this morning. I was there when they opened, along with three or four
others. I got what I needed, if not the brand I wanted. Luckily, my 6906 is not a finicky eater, & I'll finally get a chance to shoot my
new to me 4516-1. Hopefully the range won't be a madhouse!

Sorry Hotroder, sure did. I didn't bother to search. I was so irritatied by CTD I just started ranting. If things get any worse we'll all have to move closer to old David LaPell........he has enough goodies to arm a small militia!!

I was in my local Walmart about two weeks ago...only had empty shelves where the popular ammo should have been. I was there about 6 days ago and they actually had about 15 boxes of Federal 9mm. They were priced the same as before, so I bought two boxes. They also had plenty of .22 and some boxes of .38, 30-06, and 308. It was a far cry from a month ago, but at least they had some ammo.

I don't shop the LGS or walmart for ammo, but I do take notice and I see the same trends. I get my ammo from Georgia Arms They are Always in stock and prices stay the same.

Do you have the same ammo you would sell for less the CTDirt.

If not I don't think you can complain.

I work across the street from the CTD place in Fort Worth...can't even get in there on my lunch hour...place is mobbed, and cars are even lined up along the service road. The prices at CTD weren't that good to begin with...now, they're even worse.
