Ammo flippers are soon to be SOL

I hope they get flipped big time

They already starting to get so. Im going to the gun show next weekend to laugh at the asking prices and looks on faces when they arent getting them--oh and-to buy a green lazer for my Cat to play with :D

My brother called this morning said he was at a gun show in Ill and the flippers were asking $90.00 for a box of 325 Federal Auto Match in .22LR.........he also said no one was buying!

I bought one at Academy a week ago for I think? $32.00? or maybe even less. Academy had two different brands and about 200 boxes of these and this was early afternoon..

Until I can walk into the walmarts in my area and buy like I did before things aren't any better. All the shelves are still bare. Only place you can buy ammo here is at lgs and it's one box per purchase.

Its back to normal here....more or less. 9 and 45 are still limited. Meaning i might only find SD ammo and not range ammo. 22lr seems fine

I dont think the prices will ever be as cheap as it they were prior to December. The ammo is back, but not at those prices.

IMO, most of the guys selling the high price stuff probably bought it prior to December so they bought it CHEAP. They could sell it for a tiny bit over what the normal cost is now, and they would still be making descent money on their end.

Those who bought .22lr for under $20 could sell it easily for $35-$40 and they would be doubling their money.

So honestly i dont think they will be stuck with a bunch of high price ammo. I just think they will be stuck with the same cheap ammo they bought before December. Then again, even if they do just hold onto it. They can have much cheaper range fun than people who buy ammo new on the shelves at todays prices.

Just imagine if u bought ammo 20years ago and u still had a considerable amount of it stashed away. Now thats what i call CHEAP PLINKING, lol

Went to Academy today and saw several handgun calipers on the counter. I picked up a box of Winchester 100 rd 40sw 165g FMJFN for $36.95.

Not 20 years ago-------

but at the first speculation about Y2K I ordered $2000+ of appropriately (for my kind a shootin') mixed .22, .357, .45ACP and .223 from J&G here in AZ, It was ALOT!!! of ammo. I'm still smilin' and shootin', lessin I go blind none will be sold. Yea, yea, gold, stock market, Jack Daniels, et all---- but I was shootin' thru Y2K, 9/11, Columbine, Presidential elections and all the other bumps in the road. A few years ago when a boatload of .50 BMG hit the market, a bit over a buck/rnd picked up in Prescott, I bought 1,000 rounds and boy are my Grandchildren happy.

The WM in my area is still sold out on everything! Not even a box of shot shells. Dicks gets a dribble of stuff in a few times a week but somehow I always seem to miss the .22 LR bricks by 10 minutes! Admittedly I am not desperate so I don't get there at the crack of dawn. Hopefully the late sleepers will get the opportunity to buy some soon.

I really don't think you should use the words "Dicks" and "dribble" in the same sentence-but that's just me.

I'm quite sure that any ammo I've purchased over the last 9 months can be sold for a profit, should I choose to. How can people be so emotional as to not understand that buying at a reasonable price is always a baseline for making money when it's pretty much a given that prices will not be heading down.

Now for me, reasonable price has been (on average) $0.04-$0.05 for .22LR, $0.23-$0.28 for 9mm, $0.32-$0.38 for .40, and $0.40-$0.45 for .45 TTL.

It's been out there at these prices the whole time and I've rarely paid +/- 15%.

WHY do you think people who intended on flipping will lose??????

Where im at ammo comes in spurts. I got some 9mm 100rd boxes for $22.00/ box. Its a little high but I hadn't seen any in a while. The kicker is my wife was going to get a 9mm so I was getting ammo for her. She bought a .38 instead now I have no .38 ammo. Oh well whatcha gonna do right. Im gonna use it as an excuse to buy another handgun.
