Funny story...At least I think it's funny.
My FFL is one of those "basement bandits" who has his FFL on the side, but has a full time business. His is an Insurance Agency.
He has been VERY GOOD to me over the years, allowing me FREE access to his wholesale ordering as well as as many FFL's and transfers as I ever need...all for free.
I try to take care of him and when I see an opportunity to gift something or help out I do. Few days back he mentions he was almost OUT of .223 ammo for his old AR SP-1. All he wanted was enough to fill half a dozen 20 rd mags again.
So today I dropped off SIX boxes of PMC 55gr FMJ's. While I was there a few customers were in and out and the ammo was sitting on his table. Someone overheard me mention I had paid $5.99 per box for the ammo.
Within an hour several people called the Office asking if they had any $5 a box .223 ammo for sale? By the end of the day several people had stopped by and several others had called.
We are living in absolutely CRAZY times.

Updated response to old post. Went to a gun show 2 weeks ago and they had some American Eagle .223 100qty for 90.00.. Smiled and walked by thinking this guy was nuts. On my way home I stopped at a local FF store and bought 2 boxes of same ammo for $35. Higher then previous purchase at same store but did not give up a kidney for it
