My recommendation would be to forget the Magnums and use either Buffalo Bore 158 grain .38 Special +P LSWCHP-GC (1025 fps out of the 2" bbl) or Speer .38 Special +P 135 grain Gold Dot Short Barrel (850 fps.)
Magnums out of a 2" tube are pretty much a waste. WAY TO MUCH recoil, muzzle blast, noise, flash, and not much faster than what I mentioned above and could actually be slower depending on the grain weight bullet you use. The .357 Magnum was NOT meant for 2" guns! It was designed around 6" barrels and the powders they use is intended to be burned in a 6" tube. When shot from 2" tubes the powder is burned OUTSIDE the barrel - hence all the flash, noise, blast and recoil. You will be MUCH BETTER served using a GOOD .38 Special round IMHO.
Recovery time for follow up shots are much much slower with Magnum bullets out of a small light weight Revolver. Not to mention your Revolver, your hands and your ears will be getting beat up - I do assume you will be practicing with your carry ammo to some extent.
