got my new MP 15 22 on Friday and will hit the range on Monday (but frugally as there is still a real shortage of ammo).
I had managed to get a big box of Winchester Wildcats a couple of months ago only to read the book and find that they are not recommended for the 15 22.
I'll have to use some of my precious CCI stingers and velocitors.
Has anyone had any issues with Remington 22 yellow jackets as the gun shop sold me acouple of 50 round boxes with the rifle?
What other ammo is proven to be reliable ?

I haven't used those, but I've had little trouble with brass or copper plated ammo. I have, however taken to lubricating the rounds by spraying the entire box of ammo with some RemOil and shaking it up before loading it into the magazines. I have also seen somebody else load the magazine and then either spray lube or drop oil into the slot along the side of the magazine.

Since I've started lubing the ammo, I've had no feeding, extraction or magazine issues with any of my rimfire guns. The only problems I am still encountering is light loads occasionally in bulk packs.

Congrats on your new purchase. As to the ammo question, if you look in your owners manual you will see recommended and non-recommended ammo, mostly Remington stuff not recommended. That being said, I have fired 300 plus rounds of Remington Thunderbolt (not recommended by S&W) without much problem. Especially if you are looking only for range ammo as opposed to more competition accuracy type stuff, frankly buy what you can get and enjoy.

I've got a mixed amount of various ammo. Currently, Remington bulk pack of 525 from walmart seems to be problematic and one that is not recommended in the manual. Chamber a round, "click", clear and chamber another round, "click". Granted, I've been through about 1k rounds since the last cleaning. I shoot this one ALOT and 1k is probably between 2-3 range sessions. I've managed to find Winchester 333 Bulk, Winchester M-22 Bulk, Federal 550 and Federal 325 Match. I've got a clean rifle now and plan on seeing if the cleaning helped, or if it's the Remington ammo that is not recommended. I also have a magazine that has some indentations on the feed lips that might be my issue as well. I have a couple of new factory mags that I will be testing.

Mine likes CCI mini-mags 40gr. best, and runs very well on Remington Thunderbolts despite the warning in the manual.

Also likes bulk Federals.

My 15-22LR likes Federal & Winchester M22's rounds it eats/feeds them smoothly like a pro would do.

Since I bought my 15-22's, all I've been able to buy are Rem Golden Bullets and Federal AutoMatch, both of which tend to cycle without issue.

Well, it appears that my 15-22 Failure to Feed issues were due to it being dirty.

After a good cleaning a few days ago, it ate everything I threw in it tonight.

500 rounds and only 1 FTF.
