If you've purchased ammo online from these guys in the last 6 months, you may get a letter from the bankruptcy court because they filed Chapter 7. I sent them $198 with a credit card for some 9mm ammo last March. After it was late in arriving, I emailed them and did get an "explanation" from an employee named "Rachel." That was the last I heard from anyone and they simply ghosted me. So I sent off a certified "send me my ammo or gimme my money back" letter. Last week, I got the letter from the bankruptcy court. If anyone out there has experienced similar with these people, please do respond.
UPDATE - my credit card company protection ends at T-plus 90 days, so I'm hangin' in the breeze on this one; bummer.

Absolutely!
That's the beauty of Credit Cards.
They also got plenty of ugly but if get charged for something you didn't get Protest that charge.
I recently saw a $70 charge for Chinese Takeout.
Did not get that much Chinese Takeout!
Did get one Takeout Meal for about $10.
Got the charge lowered to $10.

Most of the time there is a 60 or 120 day limit on disputing charges on a credit card.

The way a charge back works is the credit card company takes the money out of the merchant's account, charges the merchant an additional fee and returns the customer's money. One reason credit card companies are so helpful about disputing charges is they make money every time someone does so.

In the case of a bankrupt company there probably is no merchant account anymore. So even if it is within the period allowed for chargebacks the credit card company would have to pay for the refund, not the bankrupt ammo dealer. I suspect the CC company will suddenly be much less helpful if they have to pay for the refund.

Unfortunately, I think you are out $198.

If the dealer went bankrupt I guess that verifies that ammo dealers are not the ones benefiting from the high price of ammo. With everyone being able to compare prices online so easily there is enough competition to prevent dealers from raking in huge profits.
