Angled Fore-grips... good idea?

Man look at that muzzle break. I think I'd rather get hit by the bullet then hit in the face with that thing haha.

I think you might be right!! :D It has caught my leg a couple of times when I have slung the rifle over my shoulder & it has a bite!!!

I had a chance to try both AFG and VFT. My future son-in-law (JM) took a 9 day leave from Pendelton and brought along a vertical grip, while I purchased a Magpul AFG on my own.

We put about 400 rounds through my m&p on Sunday and not a single jam (Federal .22LR). Overall, my impression:

AFG is very comfortable for use with a .22LR caliber. I'm not 100% sure how it'll feel with a .223. I did like shooting with this fore grip.

The VFG felt good as well but I also felt it gave me more control over all. At the end of the day, I could go with either one.

But there is a good point that JM did say about the VFG, is it's very useful during search drills as he's been trained in the Marines. Many of the manuevers where you short-stock the gun, cannot be done with a AFG. It just isn't practical. He demonstrated that when we got back from the range.

So I guess it depends on what your're going to end up using it mostly for. Since I"m not in the armed forces, I'll keep my magpul and JM will just have to keep bringing his VFG when he wants to shoot it. :D

BTW: what front sight goes good with a Troy Industries rear flip sight?

Probably a Troy front flip sight :p I honestly don't know but the key factor is making sure that the front post is at the proper height for alignment with the rear.
