I recently bought a 642 airweight that came from the Performance Center. Very smooth trigger!
I carry a shield in a OWB leather holster, but would also like to carry this 642 in an ankle holster. Many years ago I had a Bianchi ankle holster but it always slid down too low. This time I want one that also has a top strap that wraps around above the calf.
Anyone have one that they would recommend?

I have the Galco Ankle Glove, but not the calf strap (it's an option). It works very well with an Airweight even without the strap, but I probably need to add the strap for use with my 640 as the heavier gun does press on the bone and cause some discomfort if I am on my feet for a few hours. I mostly use this holster to improve access while driving and it doesn't slip when used that way.

If you can find one I'd recommend a Renegade Cozy Partner. It's what I've carried my M38 and or M49 in for years and I've had no complaints with it. Secure, comfortable and well made.

Another vote for the Galco Ankle Glove...I don't use the strap and have run with mine on and it stayed put. Comfortable for all day wear.

Id go with either an in-stock Alessi from a dealer (wouldn't wait on a direct order from Alessi), or Ritchie Gunleather's nearly identical offering.

I use the Galco too. I have found that, for me, it stays in place without a garter/calf strap...The Galco I have has some somewhat stretchable material comprising the cuff and I can make it snug enough to stay in place. A good, thicker sock helps too. I usually wear all cotton athletic socks.

I've been carrying J frames in Renegade ankle holsters for over 20 years now. Best rig going in my opinion. Simple, secure (several options with straps if you want also) and not that pricey. They wear out every 5 years or so.

I've been ankle carrying for over 25 years. J Frames, SP101, and now KLCR. Always Galco Ankle Glove. Lil pricey, but worth it.

I carry a J frame in an ankle rig every time I put on dress pants. Nothing is as comfortable as a Renegade. You can trim it down some by thinning the shearling lining.

I did a search, but didn't find Renegade out there. Anyone know where they have gone?

I have a DeSantis model 44 for my 640 .357, but were I to ankle carry such a light gun as the 642 one of the elastic rigs would be fine by me.

I see their stuff on ebay from time to time but it doesn't look like it is them selling it.
