27° F with freezing rain and ice-encrusted roads as I travel to work - happy that this is only a 3-day work week for me!

Good morning all.

It's 41 degrees here in Houston this morning. Yesterday the wind was brutal, today it has calmed to a mere 5 MPH northerly breeze. For walking, I'd prefer dead calm when it is cold.

I'm out for my walk for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Each of you have a great day!

PT 728 was the original designation of the hull, the 728th built. With the keel laid only days before the Japanese surrender, this is one of the latest of the PT's. This was one of the few Vosper boats, said to be a stepped hull design. Originally powered with 3 Packard/Merlins (Packard was a contractor building the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine), she was repowered with a pair of Detroit Diesel 8V-71TI's for the making of the TV show, McHale's Navy (PT73). This boat was also portrayed as PT 109 in the movie of the same name and filled several other PT boat roles in other movie and TV productions.

"Rocking in the Rockies" is a 1945 Three Stooges full length feature movie. It wasn't very good and is not very popular these days among Stooges fans. It is most notable for a supporting role by Spade Cooley. Cooley was known as the "King of Western Swing", although Bob Wills might disagree.

More famously, Cooley was convicted of murdering his second wife and was sentenced to life in prison. He died while on a furlough to perform for the Aladmeda County Sheriff's Association.

Good afternoon all! Just got back from breakfast and also from having my port removed! So far I haven't leaked out so I guess the removal was succeessfu so far! It was good to have for chemo but now I'm glad it's gone! Don't know about your area but it's another rainy crummy day here but it sure does beat regular winter! ;)
