Johannes Zuckertort....man's man.
Johannes Zuckertort would have been world chess champion if it weren't for Wilhelm Steinitz. Not to worry because he had plenty of accomplishments. He also played chess simuls blindfolded. He was a medical doctor, but also had doctorate degrees in psychology and chemistry. He wrote on a broad variety of subjects, and was decorated in three wars. He took after his father who was an excellent fencer and was no slouch at whist and a champion at dominoes in Berlin. He was fluent somewhere (debated) from 9 to 14 languages, including Sanskrit. (My guess is that he mastered 9 but was familiar with 14). He studied music and became a music critic.
And, most importantly.......
He was a crack shot.
