Good Day ! 😎

Got to the range for my .38 special day this morning!
Was the only one there! 🙌
The 67 did its job well!
The Rossi 92 did its job well !
Me not so much 😛 , I need to get the muscle memory restored back to the days I remember ! You know 3" double action groups dead center at 25 yds.! 😜
Anyhoo kept all of them on the paper, only could not find one piece of brass ( Rossi 92 is positive on ejection !), and came home with 10 fingers, 10 toes, both eyes, ears still work! 🙉
Good day ! 😁

Hmmm....screaming tomatoes. If this is so I have made many tomatoes scream in my life and will probably make a few more cut loose with a scream. Of course he was a science fiction writer so you have to take this with a grain of salt. Speaking of salt and tomatoes I feel a snack coming on so if you hear a scream, well you know.

Haha, Me too !! I've made a lot of Tomatoes scream in my
time.:):):)
Yes, old L. Ron is out there a ways for sure.
But he's been smart enough to sucker the likes of Tom Cruise
and John Travolta among others, for lots and lots of Mula so
he must be good at his (craft).
You'll have to excuse me, my spacecraft has arrived to whisk
me off to Valhalla.:D:D

Have you tried replacing the ejector spring? The one from Steve's Gunz work's great at dropping brass right at my feet.

Ejector Spring Rossi 92 Ejector Spring [EJS-92] - $8.50 : Steve's Gunz, The Home of the Rossi 92 Specialist

Thanks for not regaling us with an interpretation of PatriotX's dog's ear. Although there may still be life left in that picture. :(

Thanks for the Steve's Guns reminder! I think the DVD and some parts may get on my birthday wish list for later in the year.
'Regaling' I looked that word up, wow!!!!! 😊
Thanks, did not know my stories ever reached such rarified atmosphere?? 😘
My wife uses other words to describe my verbosity ! 😏
Something along the lines of......oops moderation comes in again! 😖
Drifting is cool ! 😎

We have hurricanes named, typhoons named, same thing, just depends on what part of the world ? We now have snow storms named? Tornados have to be 'confirmed' otherwise not a tornado? Will floods, tsunamis (plural of tsunami, guess grammar nazi's can advise?), front line winds, massive thunderstorms, ugly clouds, pretty clouds, hail storms, etc. need names to become legitimate ? Hurricanes, don't know about typhoons, now have feminine names, what about winter storms? You know cold as a witches XYZ, what is a witches name? If typhoons occur near the Asian continent, why don't they have Asian names, why typhoon 'Sam' ?
Why isn't PC concerned about this? It is important!!! 😝 How will children know and remember? How else will us ancient ones remember with our declining memory cells?

My theory is that it is a government plot, aided by the advertising industry, well heck BIG BUSINESS, to get everything down to acronyms and single words, so texting will be so easy you only need one thumb! LOL BTW......sort of like the Irish Mother Letter BCC posted!
You know if it wasn't for whiskey being invented the Irish would rule the world ! 😗

They already do name Winter storms.

What i'm waiting for is the Weather Channel to start
selling Advertising to name these storms.

I can see it now....
Hurricane Bridgett, brought to you by AT&T !!!

No wonder the Ganja is so appealing down there....

Spiders raining from the sky ???:eek:

What load would you use for this Hoarde?
.22 birdshot or #8's out of a .410 ???

Chuck

I imagine if you got hold of some bad ganja, you might see those spiders anyway. Imaginary or not, I would want my trusty flame thrower...

The DVD is not quite on par with today's HD expectations, but it gets the point across with a couple of viewings. Highly recommended.

I e-mailed Steve with a question and he asked me to call him once I had the 92 disassembled and setup to start modifications. On the phone, he patiently talked me through fixing a feed gate issue. That man is a gem.

The Pope flies into New York, & is met at the airport by a limo. Before they head into the city, the Pope says to the driver:

"My son, may I ask a favor of you?"

The driver replies:

"Of course, your holiness!"

The Pope says "As you may imagine, I don't get too many opportunities to drive, so I would appreciate it greatly if you would permit me to drive now."

The driver is scared, thinking what if the Pope gets into an accident, but he can't think of a good way to say no, because after all, he is the Pope, so he says:

"of course, your holiness, you may drive."

They trade places & to the driver's dismay, the Pope drops it into gear & smokes the tires taking off. He's doing 100MPH in a 45MPH zone when a traffic cop pulls in behind them & lights them up. The Pope slams on the brakes & pulls over.

The cop walks past & briefly looks in the passenger area on his way to the front to talk to the driver. He takes one look at the Pope sitting behind the wheel, spins around & heads back to his car, where he radios his sergeant.

"Sarge, I got a real problem here!'

"Whats going on?" The sarge asks.

"I pulled over this limo for speeding, but it's someone real important!"

The sarge says "Important like the Mayor?"

The cop replies "No, much more important than that."

The sarge says "Important like the governor?"

The cop says " No, way more important than that."

The sarge says "As important as the president?"

The cop says "Oh yeah, way more important than that!"

The sarge replies "Who's more important than the president?

The cop says "I don't know, sarge, but he's got the Pope driving for him!

This evening I'm tired and will forgo attempts at humor. I'm going to try to attach a few things and explain.

Homer Bast the Commanding Officer of the LST(m) 677 USS Yolo and author of the diary I've been posting, is seated at the head of the table to the right in the first photo.

My Dad was an Ensign and is seated at the far right in the back by the map in the second photo.

The Yolo motored into Okinawa on 4/1/45 with an invasion force that would not be stopped. They were primarily stationed offshore of the invasion beaches opposite Yontan Airfield.

The ship was a modified Land Ship Tank with extra freezer, refrigeration, fresh water production, baking, and cooking capacity. A pair of Quonset Huts were fitted on the deck for barracks. Their big guns were 40 mm and 20 mm AA, but they were well equipped with smaller arms for suicide swimmers and such. Hopefully, I explained that without messing up.

Now, back to the diary:

April 28, 1945

The crew secured from GQ shortly after 0400, the third GQ in 10 hours. The whole totaled eight hours at battle stations. Under such conditions half the crew on watch sleep at their guns. At 0308, as the smoke lifted, Yolo's gunners fired at two aircraft, a Sally at 3000 yards and a Zeke at 2500 yards. Tonight was so windy the smoke offered little protection. It was a great relief when the word to secure came.

Orders came relieving Yolo of the responsibility for providing quarters for transient officers. Doubtless the move was the result of the commanders' complaints. The flag realized the situation and gave us a "well done" on the job we had done in that area. A former luxury liner anchored nearby was designated to handle the brass.

The crew is exhausted and this afternoon we gave them holiday routine. They tumbled into their bunks. After dinner Bing Crosby in "The Birth of the Blues" was the feature movie. All hands enjoyed it so, but 10 minutes before the end GQ sounded. It was an all night session under the cover of an excellent smoke screen. At Hagushi 27 enemy attacked the beaches and 25 were downed. Fighters from TF 58 downed an additional 32 enemy. Again the Japanese went after the pickets. From the statistics Yolo gathered it appears as if 115 kamikazes were involved along with a like number of fighters and bombers in Kikusui IV.

Good evening denizens of the drift! Just had some really good fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy along with some veggies and a pretty good salad so I am pleasantly full as a tick! Got up to 90-91 at my shop today so summer is coming in soon. My local weather forecast is for more flash flood rains coming in for the next few days,I am sure starting to get tired of this stretch of weather for sure! Drift on,think I better work on my boat!
