I really like the relentless progress of electronic devices. I just received a $244 dollar action cam for $50. It's obsolete and was priced to sell.
I'm perfectly fine with old and obsolete if it's almost 1/5 the price of new and shiny.

Going turkey hunting tomorrow til Monday . A lotta birds in my area but sometimes it is tough hunting when they are looking for love in all the wrong places ( where I am not!). Will post results if I get one.

This painting is fascinating to me. Entitled Christina's World, it depicts the farmstead of Christina Olson, who was crippled from an undiagnosed chronic condition. She rarely ventured far from the house because of her disability. The artist, Andrew Wyeth, painted much of his work there and was buried next to Christina on the farm. To me, this painting captures the vastness of the space while still depicting the confinement of a world bounded by her infirmity. It is vast and confined...grand and sad. Sorry. Didn't mean to sound so philosophical, but during my wife's medical struggles over these past 6 years, I think I understand how your comfort zone can also be a prison of sorts when you lose your ability to move about and interact in life with no boundaries. Enjoy and embrace life now before Christina's world becomes your own. Anyhow...penguins.
What state you hunting in? I sure miss turkey hunting Northwest Missouri. Lots of big toms up there. Good luck.

Nope. I have just sort of accidentally fell into this and started to really enjoy it during this crazy drift thread. I have been just drifting and browsing and reading here and there just to unwind and relax. If I find something interesting, I try to learn a little about it and share it. I told my wife though that I might give painting a try someday...but not for show or some art class...just kind of throw down what I want and learn what works on my own...even if I make a mess...it's my mess.I like your taste in paintings, bigride. Last one tonight, Winslow Homer, The Veteran In a New Field, 1865. Pay particular attention to the year and the "implements" cast to the side in the foreground. The veteran now reaps a more hopeful harvest than the previous killing fields.
