Yeah Gary Burgoff (not sure of spelling) was from somewhere else but his Radar part used Iowa as his home. I read somewhere that he was really hard to work with. Probably my all time favorite TV show.

I know Gary Burghoff personally. He has a home in northwest CT. His brother David is a member of the SWCA. Gary collects per 1900 Smith & Wessons and anything that catches his eye. He also is an accomplished artist. He does mostly wildlife. Back in the late 1990's I hosted a SWCA annual meeting. Gary came in with his current wife, WOW!!!!! They did have a daughter, she is also an actress. She is a very attractive young lady. He is a very nice man once you get to know him. The first time he called me he apologized for disturbing me. We spoke for well over 2 hours. It was the first of many calls between us. I am privileged to call him my friend.

This is nice.
I'm up here on the interwebs, wiff youze folks, and Drifter is downstairs making me dinner.
Steak.
Garlic mashies.
Salad.
I did my part too. I bought-ed deh wine.
Iz gonna be a nice evening.
Even if the stove has consumed nearly two bags of pellets in under 12 hours.
BRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr!!!

I ran across the street a bit ago to give my neighbor a box of "Hello Kitty" valentines.
With glitter sparkle tatoos!, no less.
She's the one who had the blue "Hello Kitty" toaster. It died. She almost cried.
She said she might be daring enough to wear a tat to work tomorrow.
I bet the rest of the girls will be jealous. :D

I'm going to go see if the wine's chilled enough.
The breezeway is almost the freezeway, and is our alternate fridge these days.

Excellent drifting, BTW. I'll be back for my nightcap later.

Been trimming crepe myrtle tree today, real chore as it has six or seven big trunks and about 25 foot. Filled up my 16 foot trailer! Spring is trying to get here, today is last average frost so I have been trying to get all the trimming in before everything starts blooming out. Probably pay for it tomorrow. Drift on!

It may be cold out but the grill is still working! ;)

Well, it was a lazy day for sure. In the mid 30's all day and spit sleet, the rain and the sleet. You get the picture!

Wifey wasn't feeling well and was a total porcupine! To put it mildly! So I avoided her!

Watched some of the NASCAR qualifying and dosed off.

I see the Drift has been slow. Good! Easy for me to catch up on what I had missed.

So all in all I had a good day.

So back to your regularly scheduled Monkey Marathon!

Don't know why I'm on a Monkey kick? But I am???

Mmmmmm Hmmmmmm.
If not for wanting something different I could eat a good steak every night! ;)
Yeah, lnl. I likes deh steaks too. I try to moderate a bit though.
Too much red meat doesn't work for my digestive system.
I find I have to do my best to ingest other things a tad more healthy.
Like oatmeal.
But I gotta say, oatmeal does not improve with sauteed onions and mushrooms.

Had oodles of fun here today, readin' all the good Drift layed out for all to ponder, assimilate, and enjoy.
Keep up the good work, ahem, I mean, Drift!

I'm headin' for my beddin'.
Night-night, Drifters.

P.S. You mean to tell me tomorrow's Monday?
Sigh...
OK, FINE!

Ooooh boy, steaks were great, day was lazy, the cheap Trader Joe wine was fine and the wife retired happy when Miami - FSU appeared on the tube for #1 son and I. Don't follow hoops all that much but the game was close and the 'Canes hung on by two. All in all a well spent day despite this stupid bug hanging on trying to slow me down.

Great choice not only of song but also of venue. I listened to Battle of Evermore off the same page... gave me goosebumps. I need to look into that No Quarter DVD.
Saw the date 1994 and realized 22 years had passed. 22 years previous would have been 1972 and Zep was hitting their stride. I was 12 and just becoming aware of the world regarding music and events. Made me nostalgic and melancholy for about 3 seconds until I realized just how semi OK I have it now.

We are the same age. Probably grew up listening to and Idolizing the same bands. To me they are the Greatest Rock
band of all time. Not looking for an argument here.:D
Everyone has a favorite but so much of Zeppelins music
just talks to me in a way no band before or since has.

The new stuff coming out these days has nothing for me.
But i'm a Dinosaur and i admit it.
That's OK with me.

You will never, in my Humble Opinion, duplicate the great
Rock bands from the late 60's thru the 70's.

Again, not looking to start a big argument here.:D
Just my nickels worth.

Or was it Owatonna ? 😏 Both in SE Iowa! 😏

Try getting that straightened out when Lost In Space, and a whiteout !
June Lockhart, Barbara Billingsley without the pearls ! 😍

Watched an episode of that last night on a local channel.

Lost in Space--A version of Leave it to Beaver except in
outer space.:D:D

Good stuff and better than a nickel's worth.
Best thing music wise when we grew up was what we were able to hear, especially if our folks liked music.

Classical was always around and in my opinion old was not necessarily good but since it withstood the test of time it was worth a listen and much of it influenced my taste in tunes.

Grandma rolled out the 20's music and she could tickle the ivories. From Gershwin to Bartok to W.C. Handy plus some of the silly stuff that passed for pop tunes back in the day. I had a lot of fun being able to make noise and sing along without anybody caring.

I thought the parents were square and sedate with their 60's show tunes and pop standards but came to find out just how wide ranging and eclectic were their tastes.

But, like yourself I tend to gravitate to what I've heard during my coming of age years. I try to keep open but there is so much I've never heard either back then or now. I try to give a listen to the unfamiliar but since I focus on the music instead of the lyrics I tend to dismiss quickly that which does not make me sit up and listen.

I may be missing out on a lot, but nothing a quick dose of Little Martha" won't cure.
