Well said, Rusty. I'm not and never has been as musical as you, mostly just a long-ago concert choir singer; but my musical tastes are very wide. I never could study or go to sleep to music because if it's playing I have to listen to it. Really listen.

By the way, I envy you meeting Doc and Merle. Doc's work was some of the real highlights on the wonderful "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" album from 1975. And you're right, he saw the world very clearly for a sightless man.

I think losing Merle nearly killed hhim.

Those are some fine looking sights and my old eyes need
all the help i can get. May i ask, what brand/type are those?
And do they make em' for a M&P 40C ??

I'v tried. I like music. Most all types of music but mostly blues and classic rock.
I've taken lessons, learned how to play a guitar but I never really possessed the gift of making music. Oh I could learn the mechanics of the instrument and appreciate what it can do but I lacked the ability to really make music.

There's not too much in the way of music i cannot or will not
listen to and enjoy. I just can't do Rap !!
That why i enjoy you guys and gals and this thread so much.
The great range of music everybody posts. Some i like
some not so much but it's all good.

I Just think of all the Great music that came out during my
teenage years and i am thankful to have been around to hear
it.

What kind of World would it be without music?

I don't want to live in that World...:D:D

I love music. I took private lessons throughout my public school years and played in every band available to me. I would practice at least 3 to 5 hours a day. I was originally a music major in college and planning on making music my lifelong pursuit. The Spirit in the Sky redirected my efforts, however. I have no regrets as I have had a full life...but there is something special about improv with some good rhythm behind you or playing tight riffs with 4 other saxes in a jazz band. I am still in contact with the entire sax section I led in my high school jazz band. I might add that all are solid citizens contributing positively to the world in which they live. The lessons we learned were more than notes on a page...
 
Poor Zachary. We took him to the vet to get him checked. At his biggest, strongest and healthiest he was 15 pounds. His weight was down to 6 pounds.
The vet. checked him out, looked at his poop and drew some blood. Apparently, Zachary had been ill and was in the process of getting better.
Unfortunately, he apparently caught a cold at the vets. We sprayed some Afrin up his nose and bunches of snot came out.
At least he's not wheezing now.
 
Well Drifters we got about 2 inches of the white stuff (no Biggie).
The Temp today got up to around 18 degrees (again no Biggie).

Took the ball and chain to a Valentines Dinner up at the local
Winecraft store we have here in town. About two years ago the
wife and I started going up there and making our own.
They have all the equipment and kits for beer and wine making
right there so it's a fun and rewarding craft to get into.
Tonight they had a Dinner for about 12 couples
They had a 13 pound Pork roast and a 17 pound New York Strip
roast that the owner smoked all day in his smoker in the alley
beside his store. Pair that with fresh Asparagus, Mashed taters,
my wife's spinach salad and Life is Good !!!
The owners wife finished off the dinner with two homemeade
cheese cakes Double Chocolate and Red Velvet.
I brought three bottles of some Black Forrest Port i had bottled
back around Christmas and it went well with Dessert.
I now am in my familiar position of "reclined" with pup on my
lap and talking with you Bozos on the laptop.
I got no complaints.

Sounds like a good day for all involved. Good music, some funny remarks, and just a lot of good humor among friends even though a lot of us have never met. Hard to beat that on the internet.

It's not late but I think I've had about all I want for the day so I will say good night to all you fine folks and leave you with it. Drift on and beware the hoards.
 
I almost got myself a Walther PPS. Felt good in my hand. The distance from the backstrap to the trigger seemed right and the trigger felt good.
It was in the used gun cabinet of my local gun shop and came with 2 magazines.
Then I tried to take it down. I couldn't work the Glock like take down thingies.
While I was there, I checked out the M&P 9c. That felt just right and I could work the take down lever with my gimpy hand.
It was over a hundred dollars more than the PPS, otherwise I'd have it now.

Music is also a historical marker in our lives.:cool:

I know what you mean Snubby. Sometime back when I started getting back into guns, one of the few I had at the time was a SW40VE, which I believe was the one that Glock sued S&W over the patents. That gun flat didn't work for me & I had a devil of a time field stripping it. Add to that a 14lbs trigger & it became one of three pistols that I ever sold in my life.

I think all of us here in the drift are music lovers of one type or another. I can't sing, period. When my kids were little they would put their hand over my mouth if I even tried. I can play a little piano but that is it. No talent period.

Country is my favorite genre, from Hank Thompson or Bob Wills to Dierks Bentley, probably from too many nights in too many honky-tonk bars but enjoy a lot of others types too. Lots memories come from music, some good, some not. My life would be very empty without music. I have XM radio in my truck and in the house so it is always just a touch away.
