Annoyed at thread drift

Mike, you know we of the realm drink our tea with milk and sugar. Mom says God bless the yanks and their powdered milk as that's often all they had for their tea.

When the weather is very cold I like a good cuppa brewed strong, and heavily sweetened as well as with the milk.

I've read somewhere that in the WWII days the Tommies referred to the first cup of very strong tea in the morning as "gunfire", as in, "We were wakened by gunfire." Is that another myth about the British Army? What about the story that they referred to "O-dark-thirty" as "at sparrowfart"?

Some of you Brits, educate me, please.

vonn,,,,When you drift, you go wherever the drift takes you. Just lately we have been in a number of countries and many of the states and have went forward and backwards through time almost daily. Drift on,don't worry be happy!

The best way to handle thread drift is to take into account both wind and current speed and direction in relation to your course and utilize dead reckoning. Adjust your compass heading accordingly, and do not forget to compensate for declination.

Don't forget to add proper amount of Kentucky windage,,,

Evening drifters, it's 84 degrees in the desert this evening down from 106 earlier this afternoon. The weatherman/woman/person says it's going to be 101 tomorrow but we'll just have to wait and see.

I like the drift, it takes us around the world across the country and just yesterday to the outhouse. Can't get any better than that. Plus it reminds us how good bacon and beer is, too much of said beer will send you back to the little house with the moon on the door.

I drink my true to my heritage, cream and sugar. I have become something of a tea snob, and generally turn up my nose at Lipton unless I'm brewing iced tea. Stash and Twinnings are my favorite readily available brands, and I order Yukon Gold from time to time.....don't do loose leave type very often cause I don't lie the leaves in my cup.

I was looking forward to shooting in a local archery tournament this morning. It would be nice if the weather cooperated for a change. It's 37* right now, with an expected high of only 47*. Geeze, spring sure is taking it's sweet old time arriving this year.

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away...
I did something. I installed a wire shelf in the laundry closet off the kitchen, hey it was stylish when the house was built. I used a ClosetMaid (TM) kit my wife acquired just before the accident. It took a bit longer than expected and required the judicious use of a 1/4" flat nose punch to get the pins into the mounts in ways not intended by the designers, but my wife is happy and my ego is polished. Amazingly enough my fingers survived despite the occasional miscalculation.

Who notes his wife dragged him out to dinner to celebrate, as she was too tired to cook. No new expletives were developed during the operation, the old ones worked just fine. Today laundry and gun cleaning, dry fire development with new ways of carry. Will the fanny pack accommodate the Ruger magnum? Will it carry well with so much weight? Am I looking for an excuse to buy a 3" Model 60?

Sunday Morning

39° here in Iowa, high expected of 62°. Wind has slowed down somewhat, < 10 mph, but the sun is out! Forecast to be going back up to the 70's by Friday.
Wondering if this is a cool spring, what is coming for summer?
Tulips did not keep their flowers long this year?
Been moving the container tomatoes in and out for protection as they have blooms and small tomatoes already.
Mother nature does seem to like keeping us on our toes!

Good Sunday morning drift, hope everyone had a good night! Lazy rainy day it looks like for me today. Was going to give my truck a good cleaning but the weather is supposed to be wet until this time next week. Guess I will just watch some NASCAR and be lazy. Drift on.
