Arts College Graduation

Until yesterday, I thought all college graduation ceremonies were the same, serious and solemn affairs. But those were sciences graduations, and now I've seen the flip side to that event during my niece's graduation from Columbia College in Chicago. It was a cross between the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl halftime show. Even the faculty danced onto the stage. Could have sold tickets.

That's one I hadn't heard before. The pair were lucky momma Bison wasn't there to protect her calf. Working for the NPS, I've seen folks try to do some stupid things around Bison, including placing small children in close proximity to herds to take pictures, and walking into herds trying to feed them slices of bread.

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! Soon headed out for breakfast with the granddaughter! :D The kids a blast! ;) You never know what she's she coming up with next!
Is this weather ever going to get it straight, yesterday was somewhat nice and I got the crusty car cleaned, of course later on it rained!
Today looks like it cloudy overcast temp of 45 degrees? This weather pattern is getting old! I'm ready to head back to Tennessee!
Have a good day and drift away! :D
I'm drifting away to breakfast with my Amazing granddaughter Miss Em! :D

I see you guys are hogging all the precipitation. Feel free to send some our way, were in the second stage of drought here. Two months of warm, sunny weather may sound nice, but my favorite local crop of peaches is getting stunted. :(

My friend and I found this little guy who thought the grass looked better on the other side of the fence and got stuck. Momma didn't mind as we yanked the fence up and over juniors horns, although luckily she was on the other side. :)

Good morning drifters. The weatherman/woman/person has changed our forecast for today to only 94 degrees instead of the 101 they gave yesterday. It is 84 at present in the desert this morning.

A lot of bison posts on the thread yesterday and today. I remember in '95 traveling through Washington state seeing a sign saying buffalo crossing, you know the ones like deer crossing, elk crossing, duck crossing, etc. that you see all over the place. Well I went into a sharp curve and sure enough the road was covered with a small herd of bison. You ever tried to lock down a 34 foot motor home? Got stopped about 8-10 feet from a large bull and he just stood there looking at me with a bored look. It didn't even faze them, they didn't run no panic just stood there looking at me. At least they didn't decide to attack the thing that was bothering them meaning me.

Congrats to your niece on such a great accomplishment !!

The Chicago Theater is a cool place. I think the last show I saw there was Rick James, a few months before his death. He did not look well.

No bison encounters today, just a corgi. This is Coco, the dog that "replaced" the previous dog at the retirement home my Mom is at. She's a little pot roast. I & several others still miss Bella, a beautiful Golden Retriever that was wonderful to be around & had a ton of personality. Coco, as you can probably tell, is mostly concerned with getting something to eat. She came into my Mom's room, & the cat, Rosie, that has claimed the room as her own let her know in no uncertain terms that she had no reason to be there. She chased the dog out of the room & down the hall to drive the lesson home. Time will tell if she is a good learner or not...
