I got in a 5.1 mile walk this morning before any appreciable rain started falling. I also did about 20 minutes of weight machine work at the gym. The rains stopped a bit after noon and I made a quick trip to Trader Joe's for Romaine lettuce, and a bottle of beer followed me home. Enough ice tea has been consumed today, let it be... Beer Time!
Today's selection is from Ft. Worth, TX, Rahr & Son Brewing Tenderfoot Barleywine. Pours black with a strong head. Smells like a fruity red wine. A sweet (sec), strong (11.5% ABV), beer with excellent mouth feel. Very filling, should be sipped over an extended period of time.
Food pairings... most any hearty food found at Renaissance Festivals, strong cheeses, roasted bone-in Bison veal chops, and pizza.
Cheers!
