Guy ran out of time and the quarry closed so I didn't get stoned! :(
Monday for sure though! :D

So maybe I'll go for some of this!

Let's put today's 1945 Okinawa entry on a new page:

May 19, 1945

GQ lasted intermittently from 0236 to 0454. The raids are nothing more than nuisance aircraft. Again the ship was covered with smoke. The men remain at their guns for long periods of time. Tomorrow I shall implement a new GQ plan tried before and discarded. From now on we shall go to GQ as ordered but when covered with smoke most stations will be secured. Exceptions will be the conn, the smoke generator, and a partial engine-room watch. With the men getting so little sleep, they are unable to carry out the mission of the ship during the day. Nerves are on edge and this snapping at one another is not good. In spite of persistent reports of inclement weather, the squall did not hit until this morning. Fortunately the showers and gusty wind that blew in dissipated as the wind veered to the west. Another cold front is expected tonight with winds and rain.

I just wanted to share a selfish moment of pride.

I have been working with Logan for the last year. Today, I laid my smaller pistols, LCP, Bersa Thunder, SD9VE and 6906, on a table (omitting the 1911 and 4506) all unloaded with mags in.

I told Logan, "get at it bud!"
One by one he cleared them, field stripped them and reassembled them.

He shows a level of maturity that exceeds his eight years. I am ever so glad that he enjoys shooting with me and takes it very seriously.

I just had to tell someone.

OK, well maybe not that serious.

That's great. He's the age at which my son started his boys cleaning guns. They're seventeen, fifteen and eleven now and all good, responsible shooters.

That's the way to raise them.

Good Evening Drifter Wifters!

I hope everyone had a Joyous Day!

It was Beautiful here in middle Tennessee. Mid 70's slight wind and partly cloudy.

Wifey even got home a little early this evening. And she's in a great mood.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of your evening!

Stay a Safe, get comfortable, kick back and do what I do best! Absolutly NOTHING! I ought to know, because I'm damn good at it!

Here we are at Friday Eve.
So much to do this weekend.
I'm going to do my best to get the garden dug and planted.
How far I'll get with that, lord knows.
I want, like a lot of you Drifters do, my own homely growed tomatoes.
Luv, luv, luv them! If I don't dooze it, it ain't gettin' did.
Same with the picklin' cukes.
The Hungarian hot wax peppers.
Onions.
Whatever else finds its way into my basket at my farmer's place.
Gotta do my salsa garden.

Night-night, Drifters!

Since I have the P-01 now, I am thinking about trading my CZ75B Compact for a RAMI. The Compact is such a nice shooter though. Of course, I still need a full-size CZ75 too...and an SP-01. I want to stick to 9mm since the mags are interchangeable.

Man, I need an intervention.
Can't help ya with the intervention, I'm more the enabler type. :p

After the range today, I browsed the 9mm's and found that the owner has started stocking a selection of CZ's, in all three frame sizes. Got to check out a 75B SA, and started to get that feeling again.
