Annoyed at thread drift

Good morning drifters. It's 64 in the desert this morning going to 88-90 depending on which weatherman/woman/person you listen to. It's funny how different tv stations in the same town can have such different weather forecasts. You would think they would be the same but nooooo they are always different.

No hordes spotted overnight but that don't mean they aren't around.

The sun is rising and that is a good thing cause we need sunshine in the desert other wise it won't be a desert.

One thing we have to watch out for out here is honey bees. They say, who ever they are, that all the bees out here have mated with the killer bees that came over a few years back. Yesterday a fella in Phoenix was stung about 200 times and is in rough shape in the hospital. It's been happening a lot this spring. If you see bees out here you leave them alone and get away from them.

Good Morning:

Sounds like I went to bed to early and missed the pee pee competition? I stayed up till 2:30 a.m., catching up on Jay Leno's Garage on YouTube. I LOVE my ChromeCast!

Any way, I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Day! Stay Safe! And be sure and drink plenty of fluids! Sounds like y'all may be dehydrated, from all the peeing?

I'm back from my walk and have something to say.

Sunday morning shortly after 5:00 I departed home and could hear sirens in the distance. About 1/2 mile into my walk I come upon the cause of the sirens. On a major street (four lanes eastbound, four lanes westbound, plus a left turn lane protected by traffic islands, a 35 MPH speed limit, dry pavement, good visibility, and very little traffic) a 1/2 ton Chevy pickup and a sedan have had an altercation in the left turn lane and the truck is pointing in the wrong direction in the left turn lane the sedan is also occupying. One police car, one fire truck, two ambulances, and surprising only one wrecker. Why do I think alcohol may have been involved?

I think I'll use the free pizza gift certificate I won a week or so back. A free personal size pizza with unlimited toppings sounds like a good lunch. The joint has local craft beer on tap. :)

I need to stay away from any bee, as they are a BIG allergy of mine. A couple of stings from a bee could put me in the garden for eternity...

Good morning everyone and Happy Happy Sunday!
Well another overcast rainy crummy day again, it just don't quit does it?
Hopefully it's not going stay this way going into summer!
Better days are ahead! ;)
I guess it's time to see what we can scrounge up for some breakfast?

I believe I had a honey bee hive somewhere in a front wall of my house last year.
It was a lot of bees going in and out at my front porch and they used a back door into my garage as well? The exterminator never identified them has honey bees but they were smaller than yellow jackets and were pretty docile? They would never come after me while I was spraying their entrances.
I could never really locate the nest but had to have an exterminator come to get rid of them. Someday I'll open a wall somewhere and find some huge honeycomb and a lot of bee carcasses! ;)

On the bright side, it should be a good paddling season on the Delaware. The year hubby took me on a paddle/camping trip there, he wound up pulling the kayak through multiple shallows like Bogart and the African Queen.

Roadtrash It seems a lot of people are awake this morning. Every body has to pee? Cross country peeing as a group sounds weird.

Getting set up for the long distance whiz competition! :D

I was a big Vanilla Fudge fan(both the group & the confection!). I really liked the power trio later formed by frenetic bassist Tim Bogert, drummer Carmine Appice, & maybe my all time favorite guitarist, Jeff Beck.

Good day all in all.
93 in the shade, some drier air wrapping around from the west, yesterday the sea breeze boundary set up virtually overhead firing up some small boomers that dumped and moved offshore after I got off work.

Couple hours squatting while nit picking the back yard, couple Yuenglings, wife home from the Y and a ballgame. Life's good.

Nice to see the guy waving the Bonnie Blue drift by... seems pretty good people.

I got distracted by the VF post! I meant to comment on the fact that I was pretty sure my poly pistol buying days were done. today, in the semi auto section, there was a thread about the Shield now being available in 45ACP! That sounds like my next carry gun...they'll probably be hard as hell to find for a while, but I might wait & see if they come out with a PC version...

Just got back in from a Sunday drive. Went early so we got back early. Visited some places from when we lived here before. Mainly went south along the Mississippi River and drove by several spots my wife's Dad lived in how shall say, rustic fishing camps. They were still rustic and from a brief look the inhabitants were rustic also! Had lunch in Muscatine, fast food, and took Dylan for a walk along the river in a park, He watered a lot of trees! Lot of fishing boats on the river. Nice easy drive, and beautiful weather! Light discussion, Willie's Roadhouse on the radio, just a nice time! 👌
Seems to be discussion today on watering? Easy night for me on that and with a full moon , bright night, watered a tree myself! Like living in the country!
Lot of motorcycles on the roads today! Everybody seems to be enjoying Sunday afternoon.
Close to nap time now, perfect Sunday afternoon! 😴

Some things are unmistakable for a gun person.

At 1202 hours, I was reading a story to J.R., Ruthie was studying and Leah, Logan and the neighborhood kids were out front. I heard the unmistakable report of a 9mm appx. 2 1/2 blocks NW of my house.

My brain was instantly on DEFCON 1.

3 seconds later I heard 6 more shots in rapid succession followed by 2 12 gauge blasts. I bolted outside, yelled for all the kids to go inside and called 911.

We are on self imposed lockdown. I always have my LCP in my pocket. Ruthie grabbed hers and I also grabbed my 6906 and shoved it in my waistband.

The air is filled with sirens.

Reality has come calling. The perks of big city living.

I will post when news becomes available.

It's amazing, by association, how we can distinguish between the sound of different calibers.

The kids are shaking like Snoopy toothbrushes.

Be safe. :(

Don't know why, I usually sleep rather well but last night I woke up in the middle of the night and I was wide awake.
Grabbed my tablet, checked the drift then watched a coupla episodes of "Scrapyard Challenge" on YouTube.
Seems to me that after my extreme workout at the Y then all the beer while cooking supper and the wine with supper, I should've slept well.
I finally did get back to sleep but not very well.

I'm back home from Hot Toppings Pizza. I had a 10" Italian sausage, onion, and mushroom pizza. It's a soft crust pizza assembled per your instructions on a line similar to a Subway assembly line. The pizza cooks up in three minutes. Not a great pizza, but it was good, and it was free.

I declared an early Beer Time and paid $4.50 for a pint of Karbach Weisse Versa wheat beer. Excellent smooth floral hop flavors combined perfectly with the pizza. I enjoyed the beer more today with the pizza than the times I've had it on its own in the past. Pizza and a beer for under $5, it was a flashback to my college days in the 1970s.

I digest, so I brought some America home with me and shall relax for the rest of Sunday.

Cheers!

Snubby, as I'm sure you know by my constant whining on this Forum, I've some experience with insomnia. My Dad was complaining this morning about not being able to fall asleep till two AM. I just smirked at him & said "You're a half stepper!"

https://www.topsyturvy.com

Anybody ever tried this system? Says you can grow other vegatables this way also.
Wonder how it works if a wind comes up?

I've not tried them but for about ten years was into growing tomatoes in containers and in limited areas. I had limited success with dwarf varieties in five to ten gallon containers, but still believe 15 gallon and larger containers are best. I was active in a tomato forum where the topsyturvy devices were considered a scam. First the weight of the soil, water, and plant requires strong support. Next the tomato plants will naturally grow up. The real killer is soil born diseases. You water from the top, so the water runs down and out the bottom carrying microbes of all sorts out of the soil and all over your plants. You will be better served getting a five gallon bucket , punching holes in the bottom, planting the plant in the top, and hanging the bucket. The plants will drape over the top of the bucket and hang downward as they grow. Remember tomato plants get very large. The plant shown is a Bush Early Girl variety in about 20 gallons of potting mix. I got about 10 to 15 pounds of tomatoes off that plant over a six to eight week period.

Same here - wide awake from midnight to 2:00 am.[emoji15]

Okay, revoke my man card and my film connoisseur certification.

I never found the Three Stooges funny.

With the exception of a few classic scenes, I didn't much care for the Marx Brothers (though Groucho on his own was terrific and his letters were brilliant).

Benny Hill bored me. Enjoyed Dave Allen a lot, but Hill didn't do a thing for me. I know, I know, it was classic British music hall comedy. Still didn't float my garbage scow.

Clearly I am a desperately flawed individual; but if you vote me out of the forum, you'll hear from my ace attorney, Washio Sosumi.
