ANOTHER BEACH BOY GONE

I just finished a long write up about him in the LA Times. Never realized that he had mental health and drug issues most of his life. Always looking for a way to calm the demons. He was a master at what he did in the production of their music
Saw the Beach Boys several times, most memorable in the 1960's when they were riding the popularity of their surfing, California, girls, hotrods music.
RIP, the demons are gone

Over the years, I saw them several times. Always a great show. Their music was the purest. Always songs of girls, cars, school, surfing and tunes that told stories. Their remake of hushaby has some of the greatest harmony of all time. Christmas is better hearing Little saint Nick. They have had a very long run

I Can Hear Music

“Well, East coast girls are hip, I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls with the way they talk, they knock me out when
I'm down there
The Midwest farmers' daughter really makes you feel alright
And the Northern girls, with the way they kiss, they keep their
Boyfriends warm at night

I wish they all could be California
(Wish they all could be California)
I wish they all could be California girls……..”

It was a h*ll of a ride….thanks for some wonderful memories….
RIP, Brain……

You can’t just read these lyrics. You hear them, with the music, and sing along.

Saw them in 68 or 69 in Va. Beach. Scheduled to be in the Dome but so many showed up they were moved outside. Great show. Wife and I saw them several times in 80s-90s. We took oldest Grandkids to see them in Silver Springs around 2015. Told them to always remember the show so when they are old sitting around they can say, “ We saw the Beach boys”.

He was a musical genius in every sense of the word. Unfortunately, like many geniuses, he also suffered great mental issues. RIP Brian, and know that your music moved millions, perhaps even billions and will not soon be forgotten.
Well said, Tom. I'm too upset to add any thoughts of my own. And thanks to the other posters.

Brian had his issues, health problems and mental battles. Musically he was a gifted genius and all in all I believe he had what we could call a successful and productive life. Unfortunately, his childhood and upbringing plagued him for his entire life. He has written so many successful songs and has been in the hearts and minds of all of us for decades. Now he's with "All the California Girls". RIP!
