Just doing my morning read of the forum and I see merl67 is looking at a 32-20 close to the one i just recieved in the mail a few days a go. I read a lot very interesting info on the early HE in that thread . Purchased mine in an auction and it came with the original box all thou quite tattered but with the right ser # as did the stocks witch are in quite good shape.The serial number is 2388 a little earlier then merl67's so would in be a 1899 date.
the rifling still has a shine to it and action is tight but some one tried to clean the out side with steelwool. But it still shoots great.
