A week after stumbling onto my first J-frame prize (http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1961-1980/190767-model-36-purchase.html) I lucked into this jewel. An unfired 3" Model 36 (circa 1970). I wasn't sure if I stole the first 36, but I know I stole this one.

I'm thinking about buying a lottery ticket....

There are few things as beautiful (to me) as a three-inch 36, especially a NIB one. All I can say is that you must be living right! God apparently doesn't love me quite that much.

Nice score...or should I say steal?

The 3" J frame .38 is an interesting study,
I had a 3" round butt heavy barrel for a while ...they are really neat guns.

Nowadays I gravitate towards the pencil barrel 3" square butt

or 1". 7/8 in round butt.

I know the square butt 3" heavy barrel exists but have not yet owned one .
