Another new flashlight

So, Phil, where'd you get that beauty and what'd it set ya back? I am going to try and get that added to my Christmas wish list. It would be perfect for me...especially in regards to that remade above about always being able to FIND it.

There's a bunch of different packages for the Streamlight Stinger DS HPL. It was kinda confusing. I ended up with #75863. Two wall chargers (both are the same). One wall cord and one car charger cord.

The wall cord was too short for my install. I used one of my extra iPhone 5w/1A wall plug-ins (same rating as Streamlight wall cord) and ordered a 10ft micro USB from Amazon.

OpticsPlanet. $115 delivered over BF weekend.

Last year I bought the Fenix E15 450 Lumen flashlight. It came with a CR123 size rechargeable battery for $36.95. It is my everyday pocket carry. It will light up the pond behind my house that is 80 yds across. For a little light, it is amazing.

Might look at Malkoff MD2 and M91 series.

It sounds like the setup you're looking for is a single-mode high output flashlight with Gene's High/Low bezel switch. Depending on bezel position (about 1/8th of a turn), the flashlight is either in full time high-mode or full time low-mode. It will not flip between high/low using the On or Momentary-on tail switch.

The low mode is pretty low, 5 to 30 lumens depending on the particular flashlight. I've found that level of low-mode very useful. My Surefire P3X is 1000/15 lumens. Heck, I've waked the dog at night set on 15 lumens.

Made in the USA. MD2 and M91 on sale. With the bezel switch about $170. I got some 10% or 15% coupon codes around here somewhere.

I've got an MD2 (although mine is multi-mode) with the High/Low bezel switch. Love it.

Happy flashlight hunting.

Great choices, I highly recommend Malkoff's! :D

But just make sure you get a MD3, if you go with a M91 (M90 series are 9 volts, 3 CR123's). ;)

The MD2 goes with the M61 (M60 series are 6 volts, 2 CR123's).

Think of it as MD2 (2 CR123's, 6 volts), MD3 (3 CR123's, 9 volts), and MD4 (4 CR123's, 12 volts).
