This time it's in Atlanta Ga.

At about 2pm a Price Middle school student attempted to shoot another student. The bullet grazed the back of the students head. The victim is at Grady Hospital, conscious, and stable. At this they say no one else is hurt and the shooter is in custody.

This is just getting stupid here with these shootings.

Prays to the families is all I can say.

Probably not as prolific as one might imagine but with the dawn of the Internet and the insatiable needs of 24 hour news, they will report Nationally what used to go unreported unless it had major effects. With the current gun ban situation at hand, they are making sure to get the word out nationally every time that something like this occurs.

This Copy Cat stuff is just plain out of hand. It is what it is...Copy Cat...One kid got his 15 minutes of fame and some other......comes along and thinks he can get his.

From the initial news reports, and they are sketchy, it probably was a normal angry gang member doing what those guys do - shoot because someone "dissed me."

Where is the Bushmaster Ar-15 Assault Rifle that can shoot 100 bullets a minute and the 30 round clips that HAVE to be used in ALL school shootings? Cannot be a school shooting without one you know........

More importantly and sadly, they are making sure to keep it hidden when similar acts are prevented by a responsible CHL holder.

Well, and as we know, there are myriad instances of people with CHL's stopping crime before it happens and nobody but the person with the CHL or the potential criminal finds out.

Update.

The shooter had a beef with the victim. Then the kid shoots at the other as he ran away, and the shooter started shooting at others as they ran.

They are unsure how he got the gun past the metal detectors.

An officer on school grounds disarmed the kid and took him into custody.

Let's be thankful that no others were hurt.

Shootings are prolific down here. I moved to this location about six years ago and there has not been a day gone by where we have not had news of a shooting on the local news. Not all of them get on national news, as most are gang-related, not at schools. When it is school-related, it gets out of the state.

How often are the shootings in Chicago on the national news? They are more than daily, with 42 deaths already in 2013. It is mostly gang-related there, too, so it is really not a national outcry issue, yet.

WSB is now saying they have been told today that the shooting was gang related. Of course parents are saying that they are good boys and have nothing to do with gangs and are just quiet studious children.

Yea!

An ARMED LEO working at the school captured the shooter.

CNN and MSNBC sure didn't DO A SPECIAL ABOUT THAT!

It must have just skipped their minds.

Ain't that the truth!? The local media in Atlanta has downplayed the shooter being stopped by the armed school resource-officer. It was Chief George Turner that brought it to their attention in his news conference. They reported very little on it, even with his speaking of it. Sad how the powers-that-be control the media.

Maybe the Resource Officer was using one of those evil black guns. Probably an automatic that had a pistol grip, barrel shroud, and held more than 7 rounds of armor piercing bullets in the "clip", as it was designed for military use.

Just hope the media doesn't get wind of the phrase "slide bite," they'll start an hour long documentary on how guns even injure the shooter.

Now Channel 46 is reporting that the metal detectors in the school were not working and (I was out of the room) but I believe they said the detectors had been only intermittently working all year.

This gives me an idea. Why not teach the "Glock sidewinder" or "elbow-up" grip jn the schools? It is sure to catch on in a big way given the toehold it already has in the mass media. It would come as no surprise if it were employed in this case, with a relatively happy outcome.

The result? Fewer fatal center-mass hits, more grazing shots and "mere flesh wounds".

Not really a school shooting, more like a gang shooting at a school. I believe the gun used was reported to be a .380.

We can call it whatever, but it still is what it is. Some ignorant kid that got his hands on a gun, and went off shooting at kids in a school. I haven't seen where he got the gun from.

This just doesn't help those that legally own guns and do like should with them.

Reality Check

I had breakfast with a person this AM who works in an elementary school. She described some of the behavior she observed from the students, the problems teachers faced, and the lack of support from parents. Our conversation drifted into the latest shootings involving young people and I asked if she had concerns about some of the students and their potential for such violence. She smiled at me, rolled her eyes and said "Are you kidding?....I think about that every day". These acts of violence in our society are not going away, they will continue, and (like drugs and alcohol) we may as well accept them as reality.

The powers to be will switch it there too. sarcasm intended too.

If an evil shooter is within my reach may god help him. I promise I will beat the **** out of him before help comes. I am so tired of this going on now enough is enough. These cowards have got to stop. All he will see is my shadow over him.

As mentioned above, the most important part of this story is not being reported. The bad guy was stopped by the good guy with a gun. Years ago when Luke Woodham went on his rampage at Pearl High School in Pearl, Miss. (just outside of Jackson) he too was stopped by a good guy with a gun. Against school policy one of the teachers had a gun in his personally owned vehicle. That teacher stopped Woodham simply by pointing that gun at him. At the time Woodham was leaving the high school and headed to the junior high. This has never received any significant amount of coverage from the MSM and never will because it doesn't fit in with their agenda. This monster can be seen by Googling the MDOC website and going to inmate search.

The school shooters are seeking notoriety. It should be illegal to publish, broadcast, or otherwise disseminate the name or photo of any suspect involved in a mass shooting anywhere. Take away their fame and you take away their game.

Charlie, I think you hit the nail on the head....too bad it would take an "act of congress" to stop the MSM from revealing the name and photos of these monsters. On top of that the two political parties can't come to an agreement on anything that makes common sense to most of us.

Where I was going with the "Telvin" / "Telcius" comment was that if that bullet had been an inch or two to the other side, poor Telvin's chances at recovery would have been Absolute Zero. :D
