Another Weekend Auction Score, K-38

I like the STAR in front of the ser #. I do not have any with a star. Lucky you. JIM

I just looked again and yes, it's a K. In the picture it sure can be mistaken for the head of a screw. It was driving me nuts trying to think what it was there for. Forgive me, these eyes of mine are nearly 81 yrs old!

Funny...mine will be 81 in 7 months and I too thought the K was a screw head but couldn't figure out what it was for either.

Hmmmmm

I brought it home today from the FFL. Below are some pictures after a little going over this evening.

I was able to look under the stocks. The underside of the right stock is a serial number match. The cylinder ejector and the flat under the barrel are also serial number matches. Looks like an honest revolver.

The trigger is very sweet. The works are tight and smooth. I suspect there has not been a lot of rounds through it.

Looks awesome!

I'd have bought it too.

It has to have something with us shortly becoming 81!

All said and done, nothing wrong with the final price. In the coastal states of the west, prices have sure escalated. Many of the local gunshows and especially Reno, Nv., revolver prices have gone up with the spaceships. High prices, but not many move, come back to the next show, and the next, etc. If one wants a pre-14, that is a good one to get.

That's beautiful. The first pics of it make it look like it's matte blued. But then the 2nd ones look more polished. Are my eyeballs working right?

The first pictures were from the auction site. The second set of pictures, I took after cleaning it up and applying a coat of Renaissance wax. I also could be due to lighting and different cameras.

The bluing is quite nice on it.
