Daan: Nice S&W pistol there, it must be cool knowing you have one of the few like that in the country.

The 1006 and variants are great handguns and many consider them to the very best 10mm pistols. They are true 10mm pistols, built to handle full power 10mm ammunition all day, and the solid heft helps to dampen the recoil of serious 10mm rounds like Double Tap has. DoubleTap Ammunition

I hope Smith&Wesson will at least make one limited production run of the 1006 and 4506 (say, 2,500 to 5,000 of each) as a test to see how sales go. No doubt the many fans of those guns would buy them right up, and then they could make another batch of them now and again.

I am for a 1066 TSW with a milled-in rail and LPA has a very nice low mount light tube adjustable sight.

Just a bit of tinkering with the 4566 TSW machine line and we could be in business.

I'll pick up the gun tomorow evening and then i'll know if the compensator was done by S & W.
Is it possible to make your own double tap ammunition, choice for 10mm ammunition is very limited here and it's easier for me to order like 1000/5000 bullets then 5000 life rounds.

Well i got the 1006 (got to make some pictures) and took it to the range Saturday and i'm very pleased with it the only thing i didn't like is that the brass went very far so what can i do to prevent that and do you have any suggestions on upgrade's??

A heavier recoil spring will help with that some, like a 22 lb. or so. I don't think you can buy shorter ejectors for them.

It's not broken, it's normal. Dependent on ammunition the brass will fly.
A heavier than stock recoil spring should be matched by a heavier than stock hammer spring (mainspring).
I have been advised not to go over 10% heavy So I would say try 20# RS and 22# HS, Wolff will send you a firing pin spring which also will need to be replaced.

After replacing all of this, the brass will still fly with full bore ammunition.
Enjoy it it comes with the 10mm.
