It won't hurt a thing if done correctly. Back the stock screw out until the head is above the stock flip the screwdriver around and tap the screw head with the end of the screwdriver handle. This will get the opposite stock to start to come off you should then be able to work this stock off; Then you can simply push the opposite stock off from the inside. Don't try and pry them off.I hate like heck to pull the panels off to check. knowutimean?

With that latch and those stocks, are you sure there isn't a J at the beginning of the serial number?
