Any LED Flashlight nuts here??

I know we S&W loons like knives, but how many others really like high power LED flashlights?

I've bought a few goodies over the last year - but this latest Surefire P2X 'Fury' is something else. It's like their '6' line - like the original Xenon filled incandescent bulbed light you see the CSI show folks use. Except for light output intensity and color - and run time. Where the incandescent bulbed 2 x CR123A Lithium battery operated flashlights put out ~50 Lumens for 45+ minutes, this Fury puts out ten times as much for nearly twice as long - and the color of the light is cooler, too - with the same two batteries. I own several. I don't really like LED but it seems to be the future. My latest is a Streamlight TwinTask. Uses 3 C cell and has three lamp settings. Low-Hi LED and a center bulb that is a different type (don't remember what it is) Not real expensive and the batteries are a lot less expensive than the specialty batteries. Has good battery life.

I still have my original Kel-light (early 70s) a Bianchi "B" light (late 70s) and Two Streamlight SL-20 first generation lights (battery sticks are getting kind of tired on the SL-20s but they still give the best light of any cop light I ever used.)

I carry a Fenix P2d that bought several years ago. Max output is 180 lumens but minimum output is 9 lumens. The low does most of what I need and I use the max when I need a longer range. I find the battery lasts for months just using the low setting. Advertized length is 30 hours on low.

This is a single CR123A battery flashlight so it fits in my pocket. Very handy at gun shows.

I also have a Brinkman QBeam LED that has 3 leds producing 600 lumens and 35 red LED's for night vision

Not an LED nut. I have a Surefire 6P I carry as a backup light on my duty belt. When the bulb went out I replaced it with the KX4 head from surefire. Double the output with a a 2 1/2 time increase in run time. It lights up dark corners well. That's a good thing when hunting vermin that can shoot back.

I have a Fenix E21 and it seems like I use it daily. I bought it on Ebay for about $35 and it uses two AA batteries. If I lost this one today I would order another. Don

Another Fenix user here; mine is an LD20. Has several settings. It is such a vast improvement over everything I've had in the past that I'm pretty sure I'll be satisfied.

Got one of those for the Wife, she loves it. Very high quality, excellent light output, and reasonably priced.

I won't buy a flashlight that isn't AA battery powered.

I've got a few good quality lights. My first was a Surefire 6P that I bought probably 17 or 18 years ago, still running strong. It took 11 years for the first bulb to burn out. It's still on its 2nd lamp assembly and I have a third on hand, but I've been thinking about trying out a Malkoff LED assembly.

My second was a Surefire E2E that I bought maybe 7 or 8 years ago. It's currently my bedside flashlight. Bright enough to illuminate my bedroom but not so bright that the glare off the white walls will blind me.

My third was a Surefire E1B purchased about 4 years ago. Great little light.

However, I decided to go in a different direction. The Surefire lights are great but I wanted a little more versatility (not to mention a little lower cost). I got a Fenix PD20 last year. Great little light. I like all the lighting options, but I wanted to try something a little different for more of a less-lethal self-defense option (I don't have the luxury of being able to carry a gun 24/7) so I got a 4Sevens Quark X 123^2 Tactical. Great light! It has 2 programmable modes, so I have them set for the 360-lumen strobe with the head tight and low-power 85-lumen light with the head loose. It's also long enough to get a good grip from my pocket (the PD20 was a little less secure) and I can set the clip for lens-up carry. The length is also good if I need to use it as an improvised impact tool. Another plus is the forward click button with momentary on, something I prefer to the button on the PD20. However, I still like the PD20 so I keep it in my backpack.

Now I just need a light for my keychain...

I keep a Surefire 6P LED Defender by the bed. It works great and will clearly illuminate the back fence which is 40 yards from the back door.

I recently bought a Sunwayman V20C, puts out over 400 lumens and has an adjustable ring to ramp the light intensity up and down. I love it.

I'm a bit of a flashaholic. Streamlight TRL-3 on my P2000 for the house. Eagletac P20C2 for the nightstand. ITP A3 3 output AAA on my keychain. Fenix E01 AAA on my wife's keys ( I made her put it on). Streamlight Scorpion on my duty belt...SL20X (non-LED) in my car....

I'm getting there, LED lights that is. I've pocket carried the Fenix LD15 (117Lms) for a year now and am spoiled by the light the little thing puts out. I've got the Fenix TK41(800Lumens) on my Amazon wish list so it is certain to be here w/in a month. I've bought a couple of LED, 3 D cell maglites that work well but I want a brighter light and a bigger throw (out to 400 yards)...

I have a rechargable Streamlight Strion LED, It has four settings: hi, med, low and strobe (for disco dancing)... very bright flashlight in a small package.

My two favorites are my Surefire 6P and 9P. I carry the 6P daily in my vest, and I converted the 9P to LED. The 6P came LED-equipped, and I picked up a higher-voltage lamp for the 9P from eBay.

The light isn't quite as intense as the Xenon, but the LED's run cooler, and let the batteries last longer.

And speaking of flashlights - Several years ago, I bought a Pelican Model "2D". It had a 360-degreee swivel, and a 90-degree up/down head movement. Great for getting light into tight places. Last year, when I needed a couple of new bulbs, Pelican advised they no longer made the bulbs, or the light. They asked me to send it to them for replacement. I sent it off, and in return they sent me a brand-new "Big Ed", that uses 4 "C" cells. Retail on the "Big Ed" is double that of the original "2D". The "Big Ed" is usually seen clipped to firemen's turnout coats. Heavy duty, and it should last a long time.

Pretty good customer service.

The new full size MagLights that use 2 or 3 D-cells are really bright and fairly inexpensive.

I love my LED'S!!! I have several Polytacs and a G2X Pro. Illumination is crazy bright and run times are much better than xenon.
